I tested a strong positive on 21.3.20, I then started bleeding on the 22.3.20 which lasted about 4 days. I was advised by EPU to wait 2 weeks and retest which I done, it was still positive but slightly fainter, on the 6.4.20 I then started bleeding again which lasted again about 4 days. I have re took a test again which is showing positive but again the test is more faint than the last one I took.
Due to the Covid-19 I don’t fit criteria to be seen at the hospital to find out what’s going on.
I now should be 8+3 weeks going by my last period.
Has anyone one experienced this, or can give me some advice?

I would push to be seen at the EPU. Tell them it's causing you anxiety. The fact you have bled twice is concerning.

I have done all I can to get seen by someone but they aren’t having any of it, they are being so strict with their guidelines just now. I’ve to go to the first booking midwife appointment next week as normal, however they still won’t be be able to do any tests or checks to give me any sort of clarification.

I can only sympathise. I wouldn’t off the strength off the line on the PT too much. There are so many variables and essentially a line is a positive and that’s all you can say. I’d suggest you speak to your midwife next week and take solace in the fact you aren’t bleeding anymore. May I ask what the bleeding was like when you had it?

I started spotting 2 days ago with some (mild) cramps. EPAU won’t see me either. I understand the need to limit patient contact but also concerning given NICE guidelines say any pregnant woman with abdo pain and/or bleeding needs an ultrasound to rule out an ectopic pregnancy....

Emerald89 · 15/04/2020 13:39

I should say, the NICE guidelines are for 1st trimester. I’m 6+5.

I’m trying to tell myself that as well that a line is still a line.
My bleeding started off with just light pink when I was wiping, it then became heavy fresh red blood with a lot of clear discharge, I had some clots this lasted 2 days, then it settled down and was back to just when I was wiping then became brownish (which is normal for me). For 2 days, I had mild cramps but no worse than normal period cramps. The second time around it was almost the same just not as much clots or discharge, I’m still experiencing some very light brown blood when wiping just now.

Are you still spotting just now or has it settled down?

It's still there, it pretty much stops overnight but I think that's just gravity. Mines dark red/brown with small stringy bits but not really clots as such, more like the last day of my period. Mainly only there when I wipe with a small amount on a panty liner.

Are you in a position to pay for a private scan, just to clear things up for you?

Confused1stTimeMum · 15/04/2020 15:26

I have looked into this but I think they are all closed just now.

That sounds like your body clearing out what’s left.
I wish you all the best with your pregnancy hun.

I bled very heavily between 5-7 weeks. Period like heavy bleeding with severe cramps.

The 18 month old causing havoc in my house means it all ended fine.

I hope you have the same outcome.

Oh and I'm sure pregnancy tests start to get lighter post 7ish weeks. Something to do with hormones.

Window to the Womb near me is still open and taking bookings, they have branches all over the place

Emerald89 · 15/04/2020 17:20

@Confused1stTimeMum i have a scan booked at Window to the Womb on Sunday. They seem to have reduced their capacity but they are still doing early scans for viability, reassurance, bleeding and pain.

Confused1stTimeMum · 15/04/2020 18:43

Thanks ladies, I looked into Window to the Womb, they’ve nothing available for 4 weeks near me. I would like to think I’d have some answers from EPU or somewhere by then.
