Pregnancy and Endometriosis

Hello, hoping to connect with fellow endo sufferers.

I had a really severe bout yesterday, called 111 as I thought it was pregnancy related, think it's been ruled-out as not bleeding.

Has anyone been identified as having a 'high-risk pregnancy' with endometriosis? I've read online that you're classed as high risk.

I'm 6+6.

I have endometriosis but also have something called Ashermans syndrome (scar tissue in cervix) which was caused by a d&c.

I’ve been told by midwife I’ll be under a consultant but not sure it’s to do with endo as when I’ve mentioned endo previously no one has seemed too concerned about the effects on pregnancy.

I would mention to your midwife and see what they suggest. I’ve had a couple of surgeries - one to diagnose and two to treat the scar tissue.

Hi @Luckyme30 thanks for getting in touch.

Have you had any pain with endo? I haven't heard of Ashermans syndrome before!

I've had an op before too.

I have endometriosis but other than it being recorded in my notes nothing has been done to a normal low risk pregnancy - midwife wasn't concerned and hasn't put me under consultant or done anything differently! I've had various pains and niggles all the way through and bleed around 9 weeks (was fine) but no idea whether any of this is endo related or just normal pregnancy things. Hard to differentiate when it's all going on in the same place!

That should say *nothing has been done differently to a normal low risk pregnancy Hmm

It was just really worried yesterday with the pain. Normally I'd just crack on with it and manage the pain by myself but because I'm pregnant I just assumed the worse, plus the 111 guy scared the sh*t out of me when he said he's calling an ambulance!

I know now that it must be endo because it's all the normal pain I had previously; sharp stabbing pain, lower back ache, pain in bladder area when full or going to the loo.

glad to hear everything has been normal and low risk for you

@GreenerGreen what a worry!! I'd have panicked too. Fingers crossed it settles down for you as things progress.

Thank you!!

@GreenerGreen I haven’t had much endo pain whilst pregnant really, I always got pain on ovulation. I got a few pains in the beginning but nothing too much.

I think ashermans is quite rare but it’s basically scarring in the uterus caused by things like D&Cs and I’ve had a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy to try and cure it.

I’m not sure if when I eventually get to see a consultant that they will class me as high risk but my consultant who dealt with the Ashermans recommended that I have regular growth scans due to the scar tissue.
