I'm 38 weeks and 5 days pregnant, I'm due next Friday. I know it's still a while away but I'm starting to get impatient and thinking if every niggle is this it For the past few days I've had back ache, Braxton Hicks that were at their worst yesterday and last night I also had quite loose stools last night, I've struggled a lot with constipation through my pregnancy, I get a lot of pressure down there too this has got worse in the past week sometimes I can hardly walk and I get lightening crotch too especially in the evenings, I've also had an increase in discharge over the last 2 weeks.

Has anybody gone into labour without really any signs?

I just want her here now and all along I've thought she would be early..... maybe not but there's still time x

This is me right now, 2 days behind you! I had horrendous BH last week and thought 'that's it, it's starting' and then nothing. It doesn't help being stuck and home and so therefore obsessing over every little niggle. Plus I feel exhausted. Defo didn't feel like this with my first, but also she is very low and head ready! I don't know if I want to be induced or not! How have your appointments been?

FearnRJ · 15/04/2020 12:54

@Beanie1981 yes the last few weeks have been hard especially with everything going off it's made it harder. I could have been out and about taking my mind off it but been stuck indoors isn't helping like you say.

I've got a midwife appointment this afternoon she's been head down since 28 weeks but at my last appointment 2 weeks ago she wasn't engaged so will see what today brings.

I'm starting to think I'll need to be induced I think she's too comfy in there I keep telling her it's time now she's spent long enough in there 🤣🤣

Yes I've had Braxton hicks sometimes quite painful and back ache but nothing else happens which is very annoying.

Fingers crossed our babies make an appearance very soon!

This is me too! I am 38+4 and feeling a lot pressure when I'm walking etc but no braxton hicks. I also have increased discharge, and
I've had the lightning crotch quite frequently which makes me think baby must be pretty low down now so hopefully soon something... I am ready now 😩🤣

I’m 38+6 and have absolutely nothing!

This is number 3, she’s been head down and very low for as long as I remember and I was sure she’d be early but now I’m not so sure!

Dd2 was 4 days late and arrived with no twinges or signs in the build up- I thought she was never going to come out!

The clary sage oil arrived today so I’ll prepare myself for some nice baths over the next week and see what happens. Good luck!

I gave birth at 38+3 and had loose stools in fact I was wobbling off to the toilet about every hour.
Had niggles on a Wednesday by the Friday night I was loosing some sleep and noticing some more pain. By 8am Saturday morning I was 3cm and had waters broken and by 10am I was 10cm dilated but didn't have DS until nearly 6pm 🙈. I didn't really feel anything in my early parts of labour but I had a lot of water and feel like they masked a lot of my early labour pains!

I’m also due 24th April!! 👋🏻
I’m not having any signs. Had BU since 20 weeks, been in pain since 15 weeks with back so any pain I feel is just that. At 6am had a stomach ache and thought maybe.... but just trapped wind. No signs at all.
But this is my second. My first I went to bed at 39+1 with no signs and my waters started trickling in the night, so I do know you don’t need signs before it all kicks off.
I’m terrified of labour and newborn stage but I also can’t bear this waiting around. It is so hard not being able to get out and distract the mind a little bit. I’m going stir crazy. Can’t even take a walk round the block. Just sitting here waiting... and getting more nervous

Sorry BH not BU

RhymingRabbit3 · 15/04/2020 14:41

I had the same signs as you for a few weeks, not getting and stronger or changing. By 40 weeks was convinced she would have to be induced.
I started having some stronger pains at 40+4 and she was born 40+5 with 3 hour active labour.

Had a midwife appointment this afternoon she's now currently back to back I'm due next Friday if she hasn't arrived by next Thursday the midwife is booking me in for a sweep for next Friday. I'm hoping she's here before then to be honest as I was trying to avoid it x

If you don’t already know this then spend as much time as you can on all fours or draped over a ball/sofa something like that. Basically not laying back on a sofa or anything. Encourage baby to turn so they are hammocking. Prob teaching you to suck eggs there but worth mentioning

FearnRJ · 15/04/2020 20:34

Yes I've been doing that tonight I'll keep doing it. Thank you x

Went for a long walk this afternoon as I'm going stir crazy being at home all the time and the toddler needed a change of scenery. I think I'm just getting sick of analysing every twinge and feeling. Plus every night I go to bed and start convincing myself its going to happen that night and then picnicking! I sway between wanting her to just arrive and then wanting to be induced so I can just accept it's happening. It's the breaking of the waters manually that made me have panic about this time.
