Bleach pregnancy test at home

Babybaby95 · 14/04/2020 22:33

So I have a feeling I’m pregnant and have been advised by my doctor to take a test as she suspects so too due to my symptoms. I haven’t had chance to get out yet to buy one but was doing research on at home pregancy and seen bleach pregnancy test where you pour your pee into the bleach and if it reacts you could be pregnant. Obviously this is not 100% reliable but wanted to see if anyone else had tried it and got positive results when they were pregnant?

For the love of God don't do that. Mixing bleach and pee could create ammonia gas which could kill you?!

BananaChocolateLump · 14/04/2020 22:36

I've got some pregnancy tests BTW maybe I could send you one.

BrooHaHa · 14/04/2020 22:37

Don't mess around with bleach, OP. Personally, I don't go near the stuff in the first trimester just as a precaution.

It’s not ANY% reliable.

Some women who later turned out to be pregnant will have tried all kinds of crazy old wives’ tales things. That proves nothing.

ArriettyJones · 14/04/2020 22:38

Just order a test online.

Emerald89 · 14/04/2020 22:47

Order a test from amazon or just go to a shop!

slipperywhensparticus · 14/04/2020 22:59

Bleach always reacts with pee my kids are not pregnant (just too lazy to flush)

Luckyme30 · 15/04/2020 07:04

Go to a shop and buy one!!!

peachypetite · 15/04/2020 07:14

Jesus Christ. I don’t think you’re ready for a baby.

Voxx · 15/04/2020 07:17

Just get Amazon to deliver one. I’ve checked and they’ll deliver tomorrow. You’re not going to get reliable tests messing about with bleach. Not to mention it could be dangerous.

JorisBonson · 15/04/2020 07:20

This.

For the love of God (Ted Hastings voice).

midnightstar66 · 15/04/2020 07:23

Oh god don't do this 🙈. Of course it's not any percent reliable. The amount of reaction probably depends on what you ate or drank recently. Of course some people who had a reaction will have gone on to be pregnant but the 2 things are in no way linked!

Colouringinbook · 15/04/2020 07:25

Bored on the Easter holidays yeah?

Mammyloveswine · 15/04/2020 07:27

Oh ffs this cannot be real?

First off I doubt you've been talking to your doctor casually about whether you might be pregnant (not in the current circumstances!!). Secondly, there a host of different places you can get a test including online!

Whatever website you have been on, please just stay away from it!

Babybaby95 · 16/04/2020 20:06

Ok everyone I have NOT done it just to clarify although your reactions are quite entertaining. I was asking to see if anyone had actually tried it and what their experiences were as it is very popular on the internet (stupid or not, accurate or not and mythical or not). If I need a test I will CLEARLY buy one whether it’s online or in a shop. The question was whether or not people had tried it as I had seen it a lot online. Nothing like a condescending crowd against someone who’s clarifying or seeing the experiences from others. Honestly, lighthen up..

Umm, there are such a thing as over the phone consultations @Mammyloveswine

GaaaaarlicBread · 16/04/2020 20:15

Why is everyone being so harsh ? What happened to the whole be kind campaign ? OP asked if anyone had tried this, you either answer yes or no or don’t answer at all. No need to jump on her saying she’s not ready to be a mum etc .
OP I haven’t personally tried it and probably not advise it but amazon do next day delivery and I’m sure if need be the pharmacy will dip test for you.
Good luck! Let us know xx

BananaPlant · 16/04/2020 20:17

Why would you phone your doctor about whether you might be pregnant rather than just taking a test? Hmm

bobstersmum · 16/04/2020 20:18

Just wait 9 months you'll soon know if you're up the duff.

Babybaby95 · 16/04/2020 20:20

@GaaaaarlicBread lovely to know there’s normal people in the world who can answer a question without judgment! Thank you so much for your response! X

@BananaPlant I’ve actually been unwell and been struggling a lot so I booked an over the phone appointment.

You’re very welcome ! I think isolation is getting to some people on here and it shows ! Xx

Babybaby95 · 16/04/2020 20:23

Agreed it’s definitely getting to people haha! But thank you to those who didn’t reply so harshly too not everyone was so negative and hostile towards a simple observation!

Op I too googled alternative pregnancy tests, this was one evening when I was ttc and had been driving myself nuts with obsessivly peeing on sticks and had run out, I've tried them all they don't work Blush

I was pregnant though Amazon came to the rescue the next day, I still have some unopened If you need any?

AnneLovesGilbert · 16/04/2020 20:27

What happened to the whole be kind campaign

It was a bunch of virtue signalling on forums. Thankfully never made the law Hmm

OP, back in the day my mum took a jar of wee to the chemist who did something with a frog and got an answer in 4 weeks.

You can first response tests from amazon for next day delivery. Hope you get the answer you’re looking for.
