I know about tuna, swordfish
unpasturised soft cheese (brie etc)

but what about shellfish? prawns, scallops?

and is there anything else, apart from booze?

Soft mould-ripened or blue-veined cheese whether pasteurised or not (sorry) as the mould contains good conditions for listeria. (hate the stuff myself, so no sacrifice in my case)

Liver more often than once in a blue moon, due to too much Vit A

Raw/uncooked/undercooked meat (toxoplasmosis)

Unwashed fruit/veg

Peanuts only if history of (any, not just food/nut) allergies or allergic-type conditions

sleepfinder · 13/09/2007 20:58

berolina you're making me hungry

spiral-shaped pasta
Red Leicester cheese
single cream
butternut squash
orange squash
hashish, unless in fudge

sorry, wrong thread

Peanuts advice has changed recently. If no history of allergies in the family you are allowed it (in moderation). Apparently having mums-to-be avoid peanuts made no difference to the number of babes with peanut allergies.

lomondgal · 13/09/2007 21:14

I avoided peanuts as my dp has asthma and was told that kids could be more prone to allergies? Does this sound right or could I have had my toast and peanut butter?!

JackBlackRoady · 16/09/2007 12:57

I have been advised not to drink peppermint tea, as previous mc - but searching online gives a mixed msg, this site shows one set of advice but there are many others.
