I'm due over the next few weeks.

With the virus and the expectation we could be on our own for part of the labour..

What have you packed in your hospital bag?

I'm due on Saturday and I have:

•A washbag filled with toothpaste/shower gel/antibac wipe/ wipes etc
•Towel
•Disposable briefs
•Underwear/bra
•Maternity pads/Breast pads
•Two nighties
•Coming home clothes

Baby has a backpack with multiple veats and sleepsuits, a cardi for coming home, nappies and wipes and formula.

The best thing I think i have done differently this time to the first time round is bought extra large sandwich bags and inside I have put nappies, outfit, vest, bib, muslin and wrote on the front what size so my partner or nurse can get easier enough and its all together I have taken 2 newborn,2 x up to 1 month and 2 x 0 to 3 months for when they are born depending on there weight I would highly recommend doing this xx

I couldn't have survived without straws. Made it so much easier to drink water when my hands were gripping the bed!

Big comfy pants.

Snacks - dried fruit, nuts, sweets.

I would recommend bringing a lot of snacks for you and your partner including energy drinks if you get on with them - labour is not the time to run out of energy.
For your partner - paracetamol, it will be very annoying if he mentions he has a headache, bottle of water, clean T-shirt as it's hot in the birth room and he might do skin to skin and get 'fluid' on him.
Stuff for baby - nappies, cotton wool/wipes, couple of babygros, muslins, blanket for car seat, hat, car seat installed in car and partner confident in how it works
Stuff for labour - aromatherapy oils, music, birth plan, hypnobirthing stuff, iPad or book in case you're induced, drinks and snacks (sweet, salty, healthy etc), lip balm, hair ties, specific clothes such as T-shirt, bikini top or night shirt if you want it
Stuff for after - toiletries, hairbrush, phone charger, camera if it's not your phone, money for car park, clean clothes for after, maternity pads, breast pads, nipple cream, bottles and formula if that's your plan (and read the instructions in advance)
