Mucus plug aftermath

How soon after your mucus plug fell out did you go into labour? Or at least have other signs of labour, such as contractions or water breaking?

It was another couple of days for me. The plug went and a few hours later I started with mild contractions and had a bleed but that was 2am on the Saturday and my DS wasn't born until the Monday afternoon.

Mine was the same day. Didn't have any other signs (although with hindsight I had felt like I was getting my period for a few days) until we decided it was "it" around midnight and I was having full on contractions, baby was born a few hours later. My waters didn't break until baby was pretty much crowning, but that's apparently quite common.

You're basically asking 'how long is a piece of string' ... For some people it'll be weeks until they meet their baby, others it'll be a few hours. When I phoned the midwives up after it came out they were very non plussed and told me it'd probs be a few weeks yet, but then I was "only" 36 weeks.

Just seen this and this morning i wiped and out came a lot of like green jelly in a big clump but i'm only 29 weeks 🤷🏽‍♀️ should i be worried? Never had this before xx

@FirstTM2020 That sounds like a heavy discharge that I get, rather than a plug

Saw my plug on the Sunday, went into labour the Thursday morning, had baby the Friday morning.

@Raindancer411 normally have a lot of milky discharge but never had it like jelly in big clumps of green before. Hopefully it is just discharge and nothing to worry about xx

Had plug out on the Monday, went into labour and had baby the Thursday.

Bloody show went after being examined at 5cm when we got to hospital and waters broke when I was very nearly fully dilated. Good luck 😊
