Hi for those of you ladies who are around the same number of weeks as me I'm just curious as to what your feelings of movements are like please. I have a posterior placenta so I am feeling them and have been since roughly 16-17 weeks but he doesn't seem to move around much so don't know if I should be worried or not. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hiya, I am a FTM so I can only tell you what I am experiencing - like you, I am 21 weeks (+ 5) and I have had movements for a few weeks now, definitely noticing them more frequently now then when they started at about 17 weeks. I tend to feel little lady having a good wriggle about when I first wake up, then maybe once or twice over the course of the morning and afternoon and then a big bout of wriggling in the evening after dinner. I have a Kicks Counter bracelet that a friend gave me which I have found reassuring, as I am getting to about the same number each day - I was having a hard time working out of she was moving more or less than the previous day, but I seem to be getting to the same number consistently. It's just a plastic bracelet with numbers printed on and a little 'window' that you move along the numbers each time you feel movement. I am getting to either 4 or 5 each day at the moment, which are the periods of movement I am counting, rather than the number of individual movements, if that makes sense. I also realised after having my scan on Wednesday that I am definitely not feeling all her movements - she did not stay still the whole time but I didn't' feel' any of the moves I was clearly seeing on the screen. Also found out that I have an anterior placenta which I know can 'cushion' movements and make them less noticeable. I have read as well that there won't be much of a pattern to observe for another few weeks (28 weeks is about when you will really start to be able to track a pattern, from memory) and that feeling any movement at all at this stage is a good thing and not to worry too much about strength or regularity. Hope that's a bit reassuring! Smile

Hiya, I’m a first time mum and I’m 20 weeks + 1 so a bit behind you. I have an anterior placenta so didn’t feel proper movements until a few days ago where I can really feel her now throughout the day (especially after I’ve had a drink or moved about). Before that I could only feel her at night. It feels like a popping sensation lower down and you can see my tummy slightly moving ! I described it to my midwife as it feeling like a goldfish in a bag from the fairground and she says that was a good description ! Congratulations by the way! X

I'm 22+3 with an anterior placenta. I've had movement since 17 weeks and now get strong kicks when baby is in certain positions. I can tell he/she moves round as I get kicks in a different place. I think they're currently breach as they're kicking straight down, feels like it is straight onto my bladder 😩😂, feel like I'm going to wet myself when they kick really hard!
It seems up and down though, some days strong, some days much weaker but I'm guessing thats because of how the baby is positioned.

I'm 22+3 with an anterior placenta and not really felt anything yet. Saw her moving around and kicking like crazy at my 20 week scan yet couldn't feel a thing!

The midwife told me anything up to 24 weeks is normal to start feeling movements and they will gradually increase in intensity. From 28 weeks you should start to feel a distinct pattern to them.

I started feeling flutters around 19 weeks and its been pretty similar pattern since then, normally flutters in the morning and then the evening being the busiest. However if he has a really active day the next day he can be quiet and I only really feel him if I lay on side for a bit. Started feeling the odd strong kick in the evenings that makes me jump but mainly just the flutters, I know that because of how early it still is and my placenta position not to stress to much when he has a quiet day but will look into getting a kicks count bracelet! Currently 22+3 with a high anterior placenta and its my first baby Smile
