Am I having a missed miscarriage

Went for a private scan last week.
Think I was about 7-8 weeks until conceived.
She wasn’t very patient and wanted to rush me out said I would need to come back in 2 weeks as could only see sac.

Booked in on Tuesday at hospital to see what they think.

Am I just panicking?
Private scan lady said she see’s this slot and ladies come back 2 weeks later and have a good scan and it’s just too small to see yet.

I had an early scan with one of mine and they only saw a sac. Went back the week after and they saw the baby. It's common with early scans I think.

Thank you think I’m over thinking abit and googling everything which makes it worse sometimes I think!

Was the scan internal or external? Sounds like you had an odd experience.

I had this. I was certain of my dates too.

Currently 35 weeks pregnant

I had external scan normal one on my belly she kept moving it over and asking me when I had done a test, she said my bladder was full could I go the toilet and come back I did that and she said your 100 percent pregnant because I can see the sac but you will have to come back on Tuesday because sometimes it’s too small to see and happens to a lot of people but just been panicking because when you tell the hospital when your last period was they count it from there the first day of your last period and I didn’t conceive then so think I’m more like 8 weeks now.

I would try for an internal scan if you can - I had a private one through window to the womb when I was 6+6 and I think any under 10 weeks they do internally as a lot more accurate when baby is so small and would have potentially saved you this awful wait! Sorry you're going through this, hope you get answers on Tuesday

Hwlizxxx · 11/04/2020 21:57

Yes will ask them when I go on Tuesday.
Can’t stop thinking about it been googling it all week and all it says is missed miscarriage and think sometimes the midwives scare you more when you text them it’s better to ask someone that’s been in that situation.
Hopefully I will get good news on Tuesday and can just forget about all this- doesn’t help being sat at home all the time at the moment.

Not exactly the same but I had an early scan when I thought I was 7+5 and there was an embryo there with heartbeat etc but only measuring 6+1. I went for a follow up weeks later and baby was fine and had grown proportionately to 8 weeks.
By the time I had my dating scan, I had caught up my a week and I'm now 22+2.

Umnoway · 12/04/2020 07:42

Should be scanned internally before 8 weeks, it’s too difficult to see anything externally before then.

INeedNewShoes · 12/04/2020 07:46

You've been ripped off if you paid for a private early scan and they only did an external ultrasound.

Even at 10 weeks I think my private scan was internal.

bengalcat · 12/04/2020 07:51

Likely it will all be ok . They’ll do an internal scan at the hospital . It gives better detail as of course can get closer to your uterus .

Thank you.
Luckily she said we can rebook for 3 so will book to go back later on in the year.
