Braxton Hicks at 13 weeks?!

I’m in my 2nd pregnancy (1st ended in early miscarriage) and 13+3 I’ve just been laying down watching TV and felt a tightening and then looked down and the bit above my pubic bone was rock hard, like a little ball, this is probably the 3rd time it’s happened in the last week but the most noticeable. When I went to the toilet it went away.
Is this normal?! Or should I be worried?

Sounds just like BH. I had that multiple times a day throughout my whole pregnancy and I think it started around the same time as you. Mine were especially brought on by any kind of movement like standing up, walking up a hill, etc.

I would get advice from a midwife. I had Braxton hicks from 20 weeks in my fourth pregnancy and midwife explained that as it was my 4th pregnancy my pelvic region was more lax. I didn't think I would go full term but I did.

I told you above that I had constant BH during my pregnancy (up to 10 a day). I just wanted to add that it was my first and only pregnancy and doctors were completely unconcerned by it.

@Crystal87 thank you for the advice, would you say it is something that could affect my pregnancy?
@CatSmize thank you for the reassurance, that’s helped as I’m such a worrier x

It didn't affect mine. I thought I was going into labour a few times as they could be quite painful but they always went away again. It could just be down to your uterus stretching and growing at this stage.

I’ve had it too. Get them most evenings! I never had them with my daughter so it was scary at first. I’m guessing by the posts it’s pretty normal xx

I just wanted to update here - today I called my GP and was advised to go into A&E - turns out I’ve got a UTI that I didn’t know about that has meant my bladder has been irritating my uterus so now on antibiotics, glad I got it checked out.

So glad you got to the bottom of it!
