Light Brown Discharge and Decreased Morning Sickness

Hi there

This is my very first post so bear with me. I'm just looking for some comfort as for the last few days (this is the fourth) I've been experiencing some light brown discharge and slight cramping. By my calculations I'm between 6 and 7 weeks pregnant.

I told my GP about this and they referred me to the Gynaecology Outpatient's Ward to have a ultrasound scan yesterday. It was amazing and I was able to see our little bean and it's heartbeat pumping away. They didn't seem concerned at all and I didn't even need to have the scan internally, they just did it the normal way on the tummy. So I was hoping that was a good sign that the pregnancy is nice and healthy.

The other thing that has me slightly panicking is that, when I first found out I was pregnant, my morning sickness hit me like a truck and I felt incredibly nauseous all day for a good 5 days. When the discharge started happening my morning sickness became a lot less. It still affects me and I don't have much appetite, and still have the urge to throw up a good bit and nausea, but not nearly as much as when it first started.

Then when I wiped this morning there was a lot more light brown discharge and a few small flecks of dark brown. I also walked a lot yesterday though so I don't know if that triggered anything.

I've been pregnant once before and that ended in a MC unfortunately, so I'm a bit on edge. I didn't experience MS with that pregnancy though, so I'm hoping this one is going swimmingly because of that symptom.

Typical to moan all day when it's there and then worry when it isn't, isn't it? :) Have you guys experienced anything like this?

My symptoms definitely come and go and that's terrified me the whole way through but baby is absolutely fine. If baby is fine with a heartbeat then that's excellent news and very reassuring. Congratulations!

Thanks very much :) It was amazing to see it - it was the first time I've had a ultrasound with a positive outcome. I couldn't bear to look until she said she saw something! I just hope this stupid discharge goes away and I can stop worrying about it!

Congratulations. My morning sickness did come and go a lot. Just as I thought it had gone, it would come back or a few days unfortunately.

Hi there I think seeing a heartbeat is really reassuring that everything is looking good - symptoms come and go and also I had a bit of brown ish discharge on and off through my first 12 weeks and I am 25 weeks now all is well - try not to worry too much x

I had some light brown spotting for two days after seeing a heartbeat. I think it's just old implantation bloody making its way out. As long as it's not fresh red blood try not to worry. You've seen a heart beat so just focus on the positive Grin

Blood not bloody haha

I had light brown with two out of my three pregnancies, even had pink and red too. Mine turned out to be from bruises caused by the baby implanting and continued for quite a while but had definitely stopped by 20weeks. My symptoms were also very much all over the place too, so try not to worry too much although I know it's easier said than done Thanks

Thanks for your support guys :) I actually went to A&E a few hours after making that post as when I went to the toilet there was suddenly quite a bit of reddish goop when I wiped (still on the darker side though). I got checked over with a blood and urine sample and since then it's just gone back to a little brownish discharge now and then. I'm on orders to just relax and not panic :P Easier said than done I think. On the plus side my morning sickness is still going strong, so that makes me a bit less worried. I'm just trying not to think about it :)
