22 weeks pregnant...gas or baby movement?

Hi,

I'm 22 weeks pregnant with my first and just looking for some advice.

From around 17 weeks I felt a bit of movement from baby in my sides which felt like waves of movement as if baby was moving positions.

I've had my scan at 20 weeks and everything looked great but haven't felt much wave like movement like what I had been feeling.

I've had period like pains the last few days and I have been quite constipated but I am starting to feel little pop or pulse like sensations in my lower stomach which I have never felt before. They are happening quite regular now and throughout the day. Mainly noticeable when I'm resting.

From your experiences, does this sound like baby kicking or just gas?

Thanks in advance :)

Yep that’s exactly what I felt like for me at the start. Became more obviously little kicks and twitches over about two weeks. Congratulations

I'd say baby, congratulations it's lovely when you start to feel them Smile

Around that time the baby movement feels more like little bubbles as you describe, yes! Over time it will feel more like actual pokes or movement. It so lovely when you realise what you’re feeling - congrats!

I’m currently at 34 weeks and baby has taken to what feels like punching me in the cervix... so enjoy the bubbles and somersaults!

I'm 22+1 with my first and been having a similar sensation but only at night when I go to bed. I am very gassy at the moment though so was thinking it was probably just that.

I've got a high anterior placenta so haven't felt anything up till now which is so frustrating. Baby is always moving like crazy on the scans (to the point i have to have a rescan next week as she wouldn't stay still long enough to get all the measurements they needed at my 20 weeks scan) yet I feel absolutely nothing!

@Sel2223 @minxy16 I’m the same! Only started yesterday evening and can feel it this morning too 😊. So nice to finally feel something but like you say wasn’t sure if it was gas at first. I’m 23+4 with an anterior placenta. Can be disconcerting when everyone else seems to feel a lot earlier but I spoke to my midwife two days ago who said it was perfectly normal and to also look out for movements on my side rather than the front as most likely to feel a kick there first

Thanks everyone for your reassurance Smile
