Threadworms in pregnancy :(

About six/seven weeks ago my little lad was complaining of an itchy bottom, especially at night time. Treated the whole family with Ovex (tablet for worms) except myself as I'm pregnant. I have been scrupulous hygienic as that's how they say you can kill the cycle of the worms - cleaning the house, bedlinen, hand washing etc - the whole lot.
However, I have now discovered I have them despite all of that and I don't know what to do! 33 weeks' today and very uncomfortable.
Anybody else experienced this?

Unfortunately we had the same experience! Without putting too fine a point on it I basically washed my arse in the shower as soon as I got up each morning and fully showered before bed at night!
I put my knickers and trousers straight in the washing machine each night along with my towels, wore clean knicks and pj's to bed and chucked them in and put a wash on as soon as I got up. I washed our bedding every couple of days. The aim of all this was to avoid eggs getting anywhere they could be picked up again.
I was so anal (pardon the pun) about hand hygiene and not touching my face I made the national effort against Corona look like a piss take!
It was a pain in the arse, literally, and luckily it seemed to do the trick but as soon as this baby is out I'll be glugging the Ovex!
Top tip, vaseline on your hoop helps the itch! Good luck, it's not fun!

@SerBrienneOfHouseTarth Thanks so much for this - nice to know I'm not alone! Do you know roughly how long it took before you got rid of them? It's driving me nuts and although I don't want to take the Ovex I'm getting to the point where needs must!

The constant bum washing & vaseline stopped the itching fairly quickly and the pharmacist said they'd be completely gone in 6 weeks if I avoided reinfecting myself with eggs. It's been longer than that now and so far so good! Good luck!
