Change in screening what does this mean?

I was told by my midwife that I would not have the screening at my 12 week dating scan and have just checked my trust website as not sure what that actually means and rhe message is as below:-

We may not be able to offer the nuchal scan / combined test, but you can still have the quadruple ('Quad') test for Down's Syndrome screening at your 16 week appointment.

Is the quadruple test the same as the combined? Or is this just for downs and not tearing for anything else?

I would be grateful if someone could clarify, I’m a first time mum and if it’s the case that I won’t be able to have full screening I would like to arrange a private scan.

If anyone can clarify what this means I would be so grateful x

@luckyme30. The combined test measured the nuchal fold (the back of the babes neck) and combined a blood test to generate a risk factor for downs, Edwards and Pataus. This is done normally at the 12 week scan. Whereas the quad test is a blood test that generates a risk factor for Down’s syndrome alone and has to be done later - 14-19 weeks . Hope that helps

@rosie399 that explains it perfectly, thank you! :)
