Hey everyone. So since this morning I had a bit of a dull ache in my back. I first noticed it when I sat on the toilet. Then it went away. It’s been bad when I’ve stood up cooking in the past few days but never as persistent as today. Past two hours it’s been quite painful and it’s still there. Like a period cramp but on my lower back. Mostly on the left side. My tummy feels a little sensitive too with a bit of a dull ache and I’m just so scared because I’ve been through this twice before.

I’m so scared to go toilet and wipe. So far nothing but I don’t know what else it can be. It feels little better when I lie down but as soon as I get up it’s back. It’s just not going away. Anyone else had this? Please help I’m kind of freaking out.

It's not necessarily a sign of something bad happening, it could just be ligaments stretching and everything growing, that can cause back pain Smile

I really hope so. I had them with my daughter but always around the pelvis.

How are you today? I'm 8 weeks and been having a lot of back aches and cramps, I think it is very normal xx

It’s been fine most of the day but I ended up standing up for a bit and cooking and it’s started again. I just never had this with my first. Have you got any other symptoms? I’m only 4 weeks but was expecting more symptoms by now tbh

Lower back pain is really common in pregnancy and isn’t a sign of something bad, it could be if it was combined with stomach cramps and bleeding but on its own it’s a common thing - if you look it up you will see exactly that.
Lower back twinges were what made me think I was pregnant at 4 weeks (I recognised the sign as the same thing had happened before in a pregnancy that sadly ended in a loss) but now at 13 weeks I’ve had on and off lower back pain of varying intensities since the start.

Hi there, I had bad lower back ache now and again but it wasn't a bad sign. 15w now and all scans were good. Good luck hope it's nothing!

Do you have any shoulder tip pain or just in your back? I only ask as you said the pain is concentrated on your left side

Aly92 · 10/04/2020 23:33

No nothing else apart from my stomach feeling a bit tender here and there. It’s still mostly in left side. Apart from feeling really tired and this I don’t really have any other symptoms I kind of wish I did I’d probably find it more reassuring at this point

I think I've had more back pain earlier in this pregnancy as probably as it's my second everything is a bit looser/more stretched and as it started after you'd been standing I'd bet it's ligament pain. Xx

Hi. I had back ache when I was 10 weeks, felt a bit like period pains. It went away a few days later and all was fine.
