Morning all, I'm 15 weeks today and feeling a bit lonely thanks to isolation. Just wondered if anyone else is around the same time, how are you feeling? xx

Hi @MrsSkr 😁 sorry to hear you are feeling a bit lonely! I am 14 weeks tomorrow so around the same time as you. I'm desperate to go baby shopping as hadn't brought anything before 12 weeks and obviously with the situation now we can't go to the shops! It's not really the same looking online I want to have a play with prams etc!! Have you done any baby shopping yet? Is this your first baby or do you have any other children? Xx

MrsSkr · 09/04/2020 10:50

Hi @Bean20 👋 Congratulations!! Oh I know what you mean, it almost feels like I'm just sitting around waiting when really I'd love to be out looking at all the little baby things. I do have a daughter already, shes 3, but I definitely want to get some nice new things. We plan to find out the gender of this baby so we will be able to buy more then (if we ever get out of lockdown)
Do you have any other children?
How are you feeling so far?
Xx

Congratulations to you too! That will be nice for you to find out the gender, are you doing that at your NHS appointment or going for an earlier private one? No this is our first baby, we're keeping the gender a surprise as its first baby! I have been feeling quite well tbh, the only thing that is driving me crazy is I have eczema which was well controlled before pregnancy but since 7 weeks it has been so bad and I just can't manage it so not sleeping very well etc. Doctors think it is the hormones. Just trying to remember how lucky I am and I know the baby will be worth it!! How are you feeling? I haven't had any of the typical sickness or anything so been lucky there. Only really pregnancy symptom I am getting now is the pains in the belly when coughing or sneezing! Have you got a bump yet? Xx

MrsSkr · 09/04/2020 12:58

Thanks 🥰 No we will find out at the NHS scan at 20 weeks, I cant wait! We didnt find out the gender with our first but we thought it would help to prepare our daughter more to know. That's good you are feeling well, what a shame about your poor skin though! I wonder, have you heard of Tropic? I am actually a Tropic Skincare Ambassador (not that I'm trying to sell you anything) 😂 but some of the products are fab for eczema and perfectly safe in pregnancy. My daughter had eczema patches and it really helped and it helped a friends psoriasis too. Maybe worth a look if it.can bring you some comfort?
My symptoms have been worse/different this time. Iv had nausea and sickness, bad headaches and extreme tiredness!! Just hoping it eases off soon!
I'd say I have a tiny bit of a bump but it goes up and down a bit still, seems bigger in the evening lol. What about you? I just can't wait to feel him/her move so I know they are ok xx

Hi both. I’m 16+5 and understand your frustration at not being able to buy baby things. I found out on Saturday that I’m expecting my second DD so I have a lot of stuff already but I still want some new bits too. I’ve ordered some clothes online but, like you say, it’s not the same.

MrsSkr · 09/04/2020 13:14

Hello and congratulations!! That's so lovely, does it make it feel much more real when you know the gender? I have been doing alot of online browsing and screenshotting but not actually bought anything yet. Have you found differences since your first baby? They say you show sooner and feel movements sooner, have you had anything yet? xx

You haven't got long to wait have you!! I know what you mean I don't think I'd mind finding out the gender for the second to be more prepared etc. With first you have to buy everything anyway so it doesn't really matter if you don't know the gender does it. Oh no I haven't heard of that, I'll have a look thank you. Oh no, hopefully you're symptoms will go soon! I have a tiny bump, although I just look bloated but I know my belly has changed shape as it is sticking out a bit more higher up, nothing anyone would notice yet though haha. Aww yes I know what you mean, I have a long way to go before movements yet I think. I heard you feel earlier in second pregnancy too. Congratulations @BeingATwatItsABingThing that's lovely that you know the gender. I've tried to do a bit of online shopping this morning but everything seems to be sold out in the early months! Think everyone must have the same idea!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 09/04/2020 14:00

Thank you both. It does make it feel more real. DH and I have pretty much decided on the name now as well but we won’t use that until she’s born. I’ve ordered a load of clothes from Asda. I love their baby clothes. Such good quality and so cute!

I haven’t felt any movement yet but I had a definite bump. I was slightly on the podgy side to begin with so it was hard to know when it changed from podge to bump but I know because I can’t breathe it in anymore. Grin My bump sticks right out when I’m led down as well. I didn’t start showing until about 19 weeks with DD1 and that was just whilst I was led down. Nothing visible stood up. I had awful nausea with my first pregnancy though and I haven’t had that this time. Freaked me out massively but everything was fine.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 09/04/2020 14:00

*have a definite bump not had

Bean20 · 09/04/2020 16:18

Aww that's good!! My Boyfriend and I haven't agreed on any names yet, we always had one boy's name but I no longer like it 🙈 and we seem to have quite different tastes with names! Oh I'll have to have a look at Asda, some places have such cute clothes but very expensive!
Aww I can't wait to get a proper bump. It's strange how the symptoms are different in every pregnancy isn't it, I was worried because I hadn't had ant sickness at all and I remember my Sister was so sick with her two!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 09/04/2020 16:33

I’d had a name in mind for years before DD was born. Would have been devastated if DH hadn’t liked it. This time, we both agreed on a first name but took a while to decide the middle name. We found one we both like though.

The bump will just suddenly appear. I have bought a load of new maternity clothes but I’m not quite at the stage of being able to wear them yet.
