Positive test 6 weeks after chemical pregnancy

Hi there,
Just looking to see if anyone has had any similar stories as with all this covid 19 not sure ill get my HCG test back before I go mad.
Have had a really long ordeal with getting pregnant but long story short I had a chemical pregnancy 2.5 weeks in after an IVF Cycle. Got a HCG reading of 2. Had my period, all good, 6 weeks later no sign of next period, took a test and got a BFP. Afraid of my life this is another body trick etc. Is it still hormones left over or did i get pregnant by complete surprise. Next hcg test in 2 days. Thanks in advance.

I don’t think there would be enough hCG in your system from a chemical to last for 6 weeks, so you may have got pregnant by surprise! How clear was the line? Could it be another chemical?

Definitely sounds like a new pregnancy I'd ur HCG dropped to 2 last time it's doubtful that would have even shown on a test at that stage. After a chemical u are more fertile too so maybe it kicked started a natural pregnancy for you. Fingers crossed for a sticky bean for you this time xx

Ive had no.meds or ivf this month so total natural. the line was so strong and flew up in like 10secs!! Was only putting it down on table and saw the line immediately. Fingers crossed so thanks so much. Hcg test today so im hoping. Had 2 neg tests also before i got the result of hcg2 last month so im taking that as confirmation that this is real also.

TbH I wasn't recording because I was so deflated but I reckon around day 14 17 and 22 I did. Ya.

I had IVF last June that sadly ended in a chemical pregnancy. I then caught naturally in August and am now 35 weeks! So it does happpen OP!! Hope you have the same outcome that I did! Good luck!

So got the results of hcg tests.
Last thurs was 5943 and today 5 days later only 7643. Dr. Not impressed. So scan in 8days to see. Could be another fail. 😥 didn't decrease but didn't soar either. Plz let me know if you have gone through something like this thanks

hi guys. just to let you know I had my first scan this morn. Very nervous but all good. good strong heartbeat which I saw and heard. was so relieved. all good. doc said not to worry about hcg that its just one of those things. and with my cycle being long measuring about 7.5 weeks!I am delighted is an understatement - just keep fingers crossed and get passed the 12 week stage. thanks for all your messages x c

I’m currently going through this exact same thing! I suffered a miscarriage in March of this year, also booked an early scan and found out at 9 weeks I was having a miscarriage, I bled for that miscarriage. In October this year found out I was pregnant again on the 24th, started bleeding on the 31st October and was told that it was my period and I had, had a chemical pregnancy. 6 weeks since the day of my last period. I’ve been getting faint positives on my test, but clear blue digital saying “not pregnant” I have a blood test on Monday to check HCG levels. Really hope it’s a sticky baby and it’s the one🤞🏼 So hope everything went well for you @Cfmc123

I would say that’s a new pregnancy, congrats. I had the same, CP 11/10 and then 5 weeks later I had not come on and did a test, positive! Rang EPU they said new pregnancy and 9 weeks down the line still pregnant. Xx
