Movement worries 31 weeks

31 weeks, have already been in for movements before a couple of weeks back and all was fine.

My problem is that my baby doesn't seem to have a pattern and every time I think we are getting one it will change - e.g. past week or two of being really active first thing in the morning, then today very little if anything at that time and didn't really get much until about 2 minutes ago when it had a good kick.

Every time baby goes quiet for a while I panic as it's my first baby and I don't know how long they are supposed to be quiet for? Should I worry if I haven't felt anything in an hour for example?

I tried asking my midwife but she was really noncommittal and just said any change in pattern call triage.
But I don't have a pattern Sad

I was close to ringing up this morning before the recent kick session, I just feel so stressed monitoring it obsessively every day it's making me ill especially at the moment as I would hate to go in needlessly and risk CV.

I just wish I actually understood when to worry if that makes sense?

Any advice gratefully received.

My baby is the same! Some days he is quiet as a mouse and other days I can watch my tummy moving. I was in for monitoring on Monday and I spent all day yesterday wondering if I should phone up. He did have some movement but not much. Then last night, and during the night when I woke up for a pee he was awake!! The little monkey!
I have spoken to my mw about it so many times and she said I should be feeling movements every 3 hours or so.
But of course If you are worried then phone the hospital and go by their advice.

I'm exactly the same and I'm 36+4, baby still doesnt have a proper pattern and has quieter days and more active days. I'm thinking that's his pattern now. I said to my midwife he probably has about 4 sessions a day of movement which can be a few or more kicks/rolls ect and she told me thats fine as that's his pattern.
In regards to the pp comment about every 3 hours my gp told me this too but my midwife said that is old advice and not to listen to the gp.
Your baby will have it's own routine not every 3 hours. I definitely dont feel my baby move every 3 hours.
If you are at all worried call triage.

Exactly the same over here. 31 weeks first baby and he was super active a few weeks ago but so much less so now. No patterns I can see and although I get movements every few hours it’s not as strong and I can’t count or track them.

I went in for monitoring to hospital last week but trying to avoid now due to CV fears. I did decide to book a private scan next week as NHS cancelled my 32/34 week check up.

I think we have to assume all is well if there is some movement even if not a pattern. And weigh up the risks of catching COVID by going into the hospital?

Oh good that others feel the same way if you see what I mean!
Yes I think the current situation makes me more anxious as I'm weighing up going in vs risk of catching CV
I wish it was like the past where they'd just want eg 10 movements in 2 hours or whatever it was!
