When did your morning sickness end?

I’m 13+5 and my morning sickness is still awful. It did die down for a few days when I hit 12 weeks but it’s back to being 4-5 times a day. I haven’t managed to keep any food down today.
I’ve lost around 9lbs since I became pregnant but I’m at a healthy weight and probably needed to lose some anyway. I know losing weight is common but 9lbs isn’t too much is it?

Just looking for some of your experiences please!

Sorry to say this but with my first it was about an hour after he was born.

HenSolo · 07/04/2020 22:24

Mine was horrible and eventually felt better at around 16 weeks, gone completely at 22 weeks. For the rest of the two pregnancy’s I felt amazing. I hope you do too!

Have you been to doctors/midwife don’t suffer there is lots they can do for you. I had to try various tablets before I got the right one for me

Starburst12 · 07/04/2020 22:59

@JiltedJohnsJulie wow, I bet that was exhausting!

@HenSolo ahh so there is a bit of hope! Thank you

@oct18mummy I did mention it to my midwife a few weeks ago but I think you’re right, it may be worth me giving my gp a call. I’ve been reluctant to get in touch as I’m sure there are people who are needing their time far more than me. Thank you!

Mine was definitely worse in the first 14 weeks or so (week 6 to week 11 were the absolute worst).
I'm 22 weeks on Thursday and still getting the odd bout of sickness. I'm probably physically sick once or twice a week now as opposed to all day every day so it's definitely better.

Whatnametoday5 · 08/04/2020 00:05

I wish I could say not long but for me the whole pregnancy - shortly after birth I could tolerate smells again - I was so pleased I could brush my teeth normally!

As others have said reach out to GP/midwife, my second pregnancy sickness was managed far better and less hospital stays for drips etc. I wish I had done more the first time around earlier but didn’t really know I could get the support.

I was on anti-sickness tablets from week 5 onwards and was still throwing up during labour, unfortunately!

Definitely get tablets if you're finding it difficult to function. Don't be a martyr!

My sickness improved from about 10 weeks. I thought the current advice was to seek help to get on top of the nausea and vomiting early? My GP prescribed Doxylamine and vitamin B6 which I take at night and Metoclopramide which I take during the day as needed although early on I had to take it before meals or I couldn’t eat.

Spanglebangle · 08/04/2020 01:22

First stopped at around 17 weeks. Second eased around 30 weeks but didn't go until after birth.

MrsCollinssettled · 08/04/2020 01:35

39+4. Dd born at 42+2. Mind you I didn't get any cravings, swollen ankles or any of the other negatives of being pregnant so on balance it was ok.

Chanel05 · 08/04/2020 08:07

Mine went at 16 weeks. At 15 weeks it became worse than ever and then just vanished.
I'm 17+1 now and no longer have sore breasts. Has anyone else had this?

Beau2020 · 08/04/2020 08:50

Hi OP, so I was the same as you, my sickness would wear off for a couple of days and then come back with a vengeance to a point I thought it would never disappear. But the good news for me was that it did! About 14/15 weeks I started keeping foods down me. Now I'm 23 weeks and I'm sick maybe 2/3 times per week rather than 4 times per day. Hope it gets better for you too!

Starburst12 · 08/04/2020 09:10

Thank you all for sharing your experiences! I think I will give it until Friday and see how I am. I haven’t been sick this morning (yet) so I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

The worst of it passed after 10 weeks but I continued throwing up every once and a while until 16 weeks ! After that I felt great !!!
