So I'm 36+5 weeks today and just finished packing hospital bag etc, then suddenly thought what are we going to do with our two dogs! We have friends near by that could possibly pop in to let them out and feed them etc but I feel so bad for both friends and the dogs (commitment, they may feel obliged to do it and not actually want to). I don't think pet sitter/kennels will take them with short notice/ can't give definite date. Also with all this Coronavirus and lock down I just don't know what to do! My family are all 6 hours away so that's not an option.

Really I'm just wondering what everyone else is doing?

I would do what you initially thought and ask your friends, I’m sure they wouldn’t mind and if for some reason they can’t/don’t feel comfortable then you can go for plan b. Plus assuming your dogs have already met your friends it’l be less stressful for your dogs having a familiar face popping in on them Smile good luck by the way!!x

We have friends on standby to come in and feed our little lot. Maybe drop a spare key off to your friends well in advance, just in case you need to leave in a hurry!

Given the current climate it’s likely your partner will be at the birth, then will be home once little one is here. They’re also trying to safely discharge women and baby’s quickly, so you aren’t in hospital longer than you need to be. Hopefully you won’t be away from your dogs for long. I’m sure your neighbours will be more than happy to help. Good luck xxx

Yeah I think friends are going to be the best option! Hopefully all goes well and we can be in and out ASAP! Thank you for the good luck wishes Grin
