Gained 2kg at 15 weeks. What is the normal weight gain at this stage?

Hi all. I am a FTM and my BMI before pregnancy was 24.5.
I am now 15 weeks and have already gained 2kg, all in the last month. It seems a big weight gain although i have a healthy diet and don'tindulgeon snacks. I am not too good with the physical exercise, especially now i am self shielding due to Covid-19 but still 2kg seems like a lot to me.
Curious about other experiences with weight gain during pregnancy?

I gained 5kg my whole pregnancy and almost all of it was after 7 months. I was watching my calories and carb intake though and eating no more than 2,000 calories per day (I have PCOS and was trying to prevent gestational diabetes). On the surface 2kg by 15 weeks doesn’t seem a lot but I would keep an eye on your weight gain as pre-eclampsia often shows up at this stage with sudden weight gain. Your hands and feet aren’t swollen right?

If it helps, I'm also 15 weeks and have gained 2kg. This is my second baby and I had the exact same weight gain at this point with my first. Put on 2 stone altogether by the end which I was told was fairly normal.

Looking at the weight gain chart for someone who was normal BMI pre-baby and who is currently 15 weeks, you are actually at the lower end of the scale for weight gain at this point. Still in the perfectly healthy range though so you really don’t need to worry. Most of your gain so far will be things like extra blood, placenta, fluid, etc. rather than general weight gain.

I gained 16 kilo my entire pregnancy and all of that was before 28 weeks. First I was stressed I was gaining too quickly and then I was stressed because I wasn’t gaining at all . In the end I gained exactly what was right for me . Everyone gains differently.

From around 22 weeks my bump/baby was measured every appointment and that’s more reassuring for sure ! As long as those appointments still go ahead for you 😬! Fingers crossed 🤞. I’m 8 weeks pregnant and hoping things settle soon !

I'm also 15 weeks and have lost 3 pounds, however my BMI was around 28 to start with and I was quite ill for a couple of weeks which meant I was eating as much as usual. Stomach has definitely started to get more rounded though!
