Hi ladies,

Absolutely petrified for my scan today. Has anyone else felt this way? I was told I had a few problems so never expected to conceive naturally and ever since I have been worrying about everything.

I had a bleed at 7 weeks they checked and said everything looked ok. Just feel like a nervous wreck thinking what if something is wrong. Been waking up all night worrying. My symptoms seemed to have cleared up lots the past few weeks too.

So so worried!!

Good luck, I've got a 32 week scan today too, no major problem so far but I'm 43 and it's an ivf pregnancy so worry before every scan.

Nquartz · 07/04/2020 06:43

No experience but I'll think of you today, all the best Thanks

MsChatterbox · 07/04/2020 06:48

I think every single person has felt this way! I don't sleep the night before scans. Good luck you will soon be reassured! 🤞🏻🌸

Prettylittlelady · 07/04/2020 07:08

Hi OP @Smartiex this was me yesterday morning, I was terrified, anxious about baby not being ok, about a a MMC, about the virus and being in the hospital, even sitting in the waiting room I was so scared. But everything was fine Smile when I saw the baby I relaxed, your mind can play so many tricks on you which I know mine does a lot.
Try your best to relax. It’ll be ok, you’ll be seeing your baby soon. Let us know how it goes x

Prettylittlelady · 07/04/2020 07:10

@Smartiex and to add, I also had a slight bleed at 7 weeks, when they scanned they said it was all ok but could see the site of the bleed. Yesterday that was gone it had reabsorbed itself. I’ll be thinking of you x

PinkSubscriber · 07/04/2020 07:16

I’m sure you’ll be fine. I think anyone whose had some worries and didn’t expect to conceive feels like this. It’s very normal sadly.

Come back and let us know won’t you.

Pluckedpencil · 07/04/2020 07:20

I won't say everything will be fine, because nobody knows that. But I can say these feelings are normal and I will be thinking of you and hope today it all goes well. xxxx

Nogodsnomasters · 07/04/2020 07:22

I think most people feel this way, worried about them detecting a heart beat and I was actually wondering if they'd say there's never been a baby, you've imagined this whole thing! It's normal for your mind to produce these intrusive thoughts when you care about something so much but you don't have to listen to/believe those thoughts. Try to let a bit of excitement shine through as you're going to see your baby today!! Good luck!

Roselilly36 · 07/04/2020 07:23

Completely understandable OP, I felt exactly the same, all was well for my two pregnancies, I hope everything goes well for you today too.

Aly92 · 07/04/2020 07:24

Good luck! You’ve got this! If I make it ok the next few weeks I’m going to book a private scan for my own sanity . I did with my girl and it was such a relief

GaaaaarlicBread · 07/04/2020 08:11

Good luck OP! Please come back and let us know how it goes. You’ll be fine ! I have my 20 week scan in two days and I’m shitting myself for no reason ! It’s completely normal for symptoms to ease off when you’re coming up to second trimester , and then you’ll feel great for weeks and then they can come back. But everything will be great with little baby, you’ll be amazed how big they’ll be since your 7 week one ! They’ll be bouncing about and everything Xx

WhatWouldPennyDo · 07/04/2020 08:17

Good luck. I think it’s normal to feel nervous.

Holly3 · 07/04/2020 08:23

Good Luck OP! I felt exactly the same for my 12 week scan last week, as soon as you see your baby on the screen everything else melts away! Hope all goes well 💗

MyOtherProfile · 07/04/2020 08:25

I was the same before each scan. Hope you get good news and a lovely glimpse of your baby.

Dollywilde · 07/04/2020 08:25

I remember posting something similar when I first joined MN and I'm now nearly 22 weeks.
The longer I've been on here, the more I've realised that it's totally normal to feel this way.....lots of us seem to suffer from this irrational pre-scan anxiety, it's awful.
I'm sure it'll all be fine. Best of luck.

maria2bela · 07/04/2020 09:02

Of course, totally normal to be nervous OP. Really do hope all goes well for you! X

BeMorePacific · 07/04/2020 09:11

There is no feeling quite like seeing your healthy, growing baby on screen. Nerves are perfectly normal. Maybe try some meditation or breathing to relax before your appointment. Take care xx

Jadegkeaney · 07/04/2020 10:56

Good luck for your scan. I have my 12 week scan on the 23rd and so nervous too! I have stage 4 endometriosis so I'm paranoid there will be problems. Had couple of scans already and everything looks fine. Please yet us know how you get on! Good luck x

NZlife · 07/04/2020 11:34

I have my 12 week scan on the 20th and I'm already so worried about it. The days I wake with no sickness and seemingly little symptoms I worry more.
The thought of going alone I think is making it so much worse for me. Trying to reassure myself that I've got this far and I've already had a successful pregnancy and don't remember feeling like this before!
Good luck for your scan later, will be thinking of you :)

BuffaloCauliflower · 07/04/2020 11:36

I’m worried about mine and it’s not for 5 weeks! Completely normal. Remember the odds are really stacked in your favour here. Hope it goes well x

SophieJosie95 · 07/04/2020 12:00

My scan is on the 14th and I'm so nervous too.

I've been extremely poorly with Hyperemesis and hospitalisation because of it. The thought of being alone if there's bad news terrifies me.

I just want the support system of my partner but he's not allowed to come with me due to the pandemic.

Thoughts are with you lovely xx

Furbabymum15 · 07/04/2020 12:09

@ Smartiex good luck today I'm sure all will be fine. I'm 7+5 and had bleeding today too I've got an early pregnancy scan this afternoon xx let us know how you get on 😘

MsFrog · 07/04/2020 12:23

Good luck today, OP. Scans are terrifying. I've got my fingers crossed everything goes well for you, hope you can find ways to stay calm until your appointment🤞🤞🤞
