the emmas diary website has loads of guidance for the sleeping bags here. I had 2, both from TU link

Just as a warning, don’t spend a fortune unless you already have baby and know they like them. I bought loads of beautiful grow bags for my daughter, spent a fortune, turned out she hated them and refused to sleep in them. I had washed them ready so couldn’t take them back, very expensive lesson learnt!!

Well, gro bags are great but babies have to be a minimum weight so baby might not be big enough when they're born, also we swaddled DS for the first 3 months before moving to gro bags.

Most gro bags have guidance on the side on what the tog should be based on the room temperature and what the baby should wear. You could look on google images etc to see if you can see an example.

We bought ours from John Lewis, John Lewis own rather than The Gro Company, and we're always happy, they had a guide on the side.

We used grosnugs for the first few months, they can be used 5lbs and up. My daughter didn't like her arms being in though, she did not enjoy being swaddled!
