Pregnancy and dizzyness/seeing stars

Hi Ladies

Just wondered if anyone has suffered with the same as me.

I’m almost 14 weeks pregnant and this week have suffered with dizzyness and seeing like falling stars/flashes for a few seconds after I stand up now and again?

Has anyone ever suffered with this before please?

Being isolated due to corona is driving me mad and I’m overthinking most things!!

Thank you!

Xx

Hey,

I had this. I was soooo dizzy during my early pregnancy, it felt like I wasnt in the room sometimes. I thought I was just hungry but some kind person on here recommended I get my Iron levels checked again. The midwife said (when i asked her) that my iron levels were fine at my previous blood test but I insisted she checked them again just in case.

Anyway, turns out my iron levels were low...so with iron tablets daily I felt so so much better. Im now 35 weeks, still taking them and not having dizzy spells :)

I was also having this at 14 weeks. Week 14 was really hard for me for some reason. I was very dizzy, still low grade nauseous, very low mood. I was told about then that I have anemia so was also having to adapt to taking the pills 3 times a day. I feel less dizzy now at 16 weeks, probably from the iron. It is worth checking to see if your iron levels are low, specially if you have been suffering from nausea and vomiting and unable to eat well for weeks on end.

Same here! I dont get flashes and starts, but I black out and get dizzy every time I stand up. It's the norm for me now unfortunately. I am 16 weeks.
I am also taking pregnacare so it's got all vitamins and I've been taking it for a while now so I dont think its my iron. I'm thinking of mentioning it on my next appointment

Thank you!

I was suffering with bad energy/ tiredness and light headedness a few weeks back my midwife said my previous iron levels were fine (even though these were taken over a month ago). Shes not been the best though a bit lazy and doesnt reply to me much so i will ring Monday and ask for further checks!

Its reassuring to read im not alone Smile

I think low blood pressure has a lot to do with it, mine is low and I always get this when I'm pregnant, especially the first two trimesters. Don't stand up to quickly and ask for all your bloods to be taken when your laying on the bed rather then sitting on a chair.

I forgot last pregnancy and ended up fainting and lolling on a chair with my head between my legs in front of my toddler, who kindly held my hand through the ordeal.

Feels horrible but it really is normal for some women, just remember if you start getting the sweats and the feeling of a racing heart, or seeing stars lay the f down!

And take liquid iron spatone, it's much better absorbed then those pills and helps as well with general fatigue.

But fainting and lightheadedness is related to low blood pressure mostly, if your iron levels have been checked they genuinely will be fine.
