27w, just had spots of blood on wiping, WWYD

Morning all,

I am 27+2, about an hour or so ago went for first wee of the day and on wiping there was loads and loads of clear mucus-y discharge (not extraordinary) but also two tiny spots of blood, they were pinhead sized, they looked like when you crack an egg and there's a bit of blood IYSWIM.

I have just gone for another wee and nothing at all, just clear, snotty discharge.

I also got up and did the usual things to get baby to move - orange juice, cold water, bite of chocolate, wiggle belly and lie on side - and I have felt a couple of kicks. I have an anterior placenta so my movements are always a bit underwhelming.

I have had a completely uncomplicated pregnancy so far, no blood at all. Last night and last few nights completely unremarkable except that last night perhaps after dinner I was feeling kicks very low down towards my vagina I suppose whcih was new.

Should I call the midwife or not? Do I need to be worried? I don't want to cause a fuss for two tiny spots of blood Sad I was so so relieved to feel baby kick.

Please let me know what I should do and any advice/ experience. Thank you so much

If normal movement, probably fine? But worth calling if you're worried. Should be able to assess whether you need to see her over the phone.
I've had occasional blood after sex, but nothing morning after.

Thanks Barney, it was such a tiny amount, and I have felt movemtns, that I am inclined to think it's nothing to worry about.

Oh that's fab @ThinkPink71 it was just a bit of a shock first thing having never had anything before. Congratulations on your pregnancy and glad it's all going well.

I would call the midwife definitely. This happened to me twice during my pregnancy at 18 weeks and at 27 weeks. Both times it was a tiny amount barely noticeable. When I contacted my gp he told me to go into the hospital to get checked out and I had to go in and get bloods taken and get anti d injection as I am rhesus negative blood. They also checked the baby when I was in with a ctg. They didn’t find any explanation, everything was fine and it hasn’t happened to me since but they told me if it happened again I would have to come in and get checked out again.
