Tell me this is normal...

Im currently 16+2 with my first baby. Had a scan at 13 weeks where everything was fine. 16 week appt has been rescheduled for a telephone appt in light of the current situation and my 20 week scan is booked in for May 1st.

However, i have lost all symptoms. I still have insomnia between 3-5am but other than that my headaches have shifted, my ongoing nausea has gone and i seem to have much more energy throughout the day. I've gained weight on my stomach but nothing as a noticable bump and i haven't yet felt baby move...

Im so worried that things have stopped progressing. Is this normal??
I told myself i wouldn't get anxious between 12 and 20 week scans and that I'd try and relax, but i feel so much better it's unnerving me!! There's nothing about my body telling me right now that I'm pg so im just looking for a handhold and some reassurance.

Tell me you've felt the same and everything was normal?!??

Totally normal. Congratulations on your pregnancy FlowersSmile

Sounds exactly right- I had phases of symptoms/ exhaustion/ feeling pregnant, then periods of ‘normal’.
Also, depending on location of placenta depends on when you feel movement. Mine was anterior and I was around 20 weeks before I felt anything.
Do all you can to care for yourself, and be kind.
If you are worried, call midwife for a chat.

Your placenta has taken over so your hormone levels will have dropped. With both of my pregnancies all of my symptons dropped at 13 weeks and I didn't even feel prehnant. It wasn't until I started feeling babys first movements at around 21 weeks that it felt real. Congrats Xx

Sounds normal to me lass.

Totally normal. I felt foul until 14 weeks and then it was like I had 'recovered' from a flu or something! I had a bump from around 18 weeks which suddenly popped out but DD was transverse breach.

Amanduh · 04/04/2020 07:42

100% normal.

Hey OP we're in pretty much the same situation.

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and my only real 'symptom' is the joy of insomnia.

All my community antenatal care has been cancelled for now. My next contact with my midwife is a call at 24 weeks!

Our 20 week scan is the first week in May too but we've just been told that DP can't come.

Just wanted to reassure you that what you're experiencing is normal and not to worry too much (which is rich coming from me as I'm a worrier!)

Good luck!

Totally normal OP. I wasn't visibly pregnant until around 20 weeks with my first and had no symptoms at all apart from not having a period. She's 2 today.

I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant with my second. I was nauseous and exhausted until just before my 12 week scan and then felt absolutely normal apart from feeling way bigger than with my first. The second trimester is usually when things settle down. Try not to worry.

Sounds totally normal @Married2019 I'm 19+1 and aside from headaches and the odd ache and pain I can honestly say I've not had many symptoms. I don't feel pregnant at all. Aside from looking a bit chubbier than normal I don't have a noticeable bump. I had a scan at 16+2 and everything was fine.

WhenDoesTheWashingEnd · 04/04/2020 11:37

Had this with both mine.
Now at 37 weeks and uncomfortable, reflux, aches & pains. Can't wait for little guy to make an appearance!!!

Enjoy the 2nd trimester!! GrinFlowers

Just to add.
If you do have any concerns don't be afraid to contact your midwife. In my experience they are always happy to put your mind at ease. Smile

Ohfeckohfuckohshit · 04/04/2020 11:40

Enjoy this likely fleeting break ... cankles and reflux soon! Grin xxxx

Yup totally normal for the second trimester, make the most of it before the third trimester comes and you'll go back to be tired again Smile
