Hi all

I'm 32 weeks' and due end of May. I have two other kids - two lively boys - who will be 10 and 13 when baby arrives. They are of course not currently attending school.

OH is a full time key worker and although my parents live in the same village they of course won't be able to offer support during lockdown so I'll basically be on my own for the majority of the day in the week.

Anyone else in a similar position and worried about how on earth they're going to cope?

@LalalalalaLlama I'm having a homebirth so boys will be at home. At their ages they'll be totally grossed out by the whole thing so guessing they will stay in their bedrooms?!!

OH will be taking his two weeks but this will be his first baby so it will be a very steep learning curve!!! He's also on sleeping meds following major spinal surgery so will be zero help in the nights.

13 y/o is your typical beligerent and lazy teenager so I'm very doubtful he'll help much. Plus he's still mad at me for getting pregnant in the first place sadly.

@LalalalalaLlama And of course under normal circumstances boys would be at school to give me some time with baby but cleary that won't be happening for some months yet.

Is homebirth still an option?

I think your kids are old enough to realise they just have to get on with it tbh.

@inwood For some NHS Trusts yes, but my Trust have suspended so we're going with an Independent Midwife. Safer than going to hospital with current Covid situation, esp as I'm low risk and third baby.
