If my bump has dropped, is the head engaged?

I noticed my bump looked lower this morning and when I saw my Mum, it was the first thing she commented on. Does this mean the head is engaged? I thought on second and subsequent babies, the head engaged at full term and Im only 33 weeks.

possibly and possibly not. I don't think there is any hard and fast rule.

I think it is likely to have engaged but not necessarily fully. Apparently with 2nd (or more!) babies the head tends to engage later and can engage and disengage up to term.

When mine dropped the head had started to engage (3/5 at the next appt).

Not necessarily bunny (but then, maybe). Baby may have moved position. My bump is lower, I carry quite low (well, not high) anyway but baby is not engaged, just still breech!

I have been sufferring from rib flare which I thought would last til the end of pregnancy. However the Physio I saw the other day said that the baby reaches max height at approx 31wk (which I am approaching)and then drops down into the pelvis, but I am sure it does not mean the head (or bum) is fully engaged just yet.
