Benefits whiles on Mat leave

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there's any benefits that can be claimed during mat leave? I was told work tax credits but isn't that under the old system?

I've tried google but it's not very helpful, everything I find seems to be if your already getting universal credit pre-baby.

I'll be getting the bog standard smp from my work. I tried doing a universal credit calculation thing online but because it asked for the previous years earnings it was saying they were to high to claim anything.

Everyone gets child benefit

If you’re on SMP I thought you can only claim child benefit £20.70 a week. The idea of SMP is its in place of your wage. I may be wrong though

Check entitled to. Could give you an idea if there is anything you can claim.

I used the turn2us benefits calculator. It does depend on your income and particular circumstances but my result said I will get child benefit and some universal credit once I am on smp to help with rent costs.
