Protein S Deficiency Advice

Hi ladies, we have been trying to get pregnant for over a year and unfortunately miscarried 3 times (2 early ones and 1 missed miscarriage). After tests we have been told my protein S is low meaning I got more chances of blood clot causing to misscary. However Protein S is low but still in medium range so I got option of doing nothing or join a trial where I might get into group of women who inject every day to thin their blood. However there is no evidence that actually helps. With COVID 19 situation the trial is now out of question anyway so we will try again and see what happens. I wanted to see if anyone here was in the same situation and manage to have successful pregnancy without injecting? I was advised to drink plenty of water, keep active with walks and eat colourful food, also compression tights. Any advice and stories welcome. Thank youuu xxx

Hi there, I'd seek a second opinion possibly or other treatment as surely there must be something that's not a trial. I conceived via IVF and was taking aspirin to thin blood in case I had any issues with that. I wouldn't take anything without a doctors advise though. Good luck! I hope it works!

Hi @viletta, thank youuu. I would agree, already asked about aspirin but they said that its a no. Apparently they used to prescribe it in the past but not anymore. I think we will try go privately as unfortunately there is nothing else NHS can do for us unless we miscarry again. However at the moment even private is not a option due to virus so we are going to give it a go one more time, I have researched foods acting as natural blood thinners so will add this to my diet and we will see. Fingers crossed

@dani130286 I wonder if doctors from private IVF clinics are doing any online consultations at this point. Possibly even clinics from abroad, I heard of a clinic in Cyprus that's highly rated for dealing with previous miscarriages.

@viletta thank you for tips, I will have a look around.
