Kings Or Princess Royal?

Hello

I'm undecided where to give birth, either Kings College in Herne Hill or Princess Royal in Orpington does anyone have experience of either of these two hospitals? I'll be high risk so won't be in the birthing suite.

I had a c section at Kings in December, and had excellent care. It's one of the best places in the country if you're high risk.

But they are swamped with CV patients at the moment (I suspect more so than smaller hospitals) so that might have an effect on how things are running.

Are you definitely in the catchment area for both as they're quite far apart?

I'm having scans at Kings but am expecting that I will have no choice but PRU when it comes to the birth due to where we live. My sister in law had her little one at the PRU and has said good things.

@PaulinePetrovaPosey thanks that’s good to know. I’m not sure whether I will be having a c section yet but it’s useful knowing you had a good experience here

Thanks everyone for your comments - in regards to location you can request to have your baby and / or care at any hospital in the UK, regardless of location. Obviously it comes down to practicalities of whether you would want to travel far for appointments etc. I thought that might be worth sharing as a few people mentioned about location...
