Pregnancy of unknown location...

Has anyone on here had a pregnancy of unknown location?

I am officially 5 weeks and 2 days although my last cycle was a bit messed up (due to stress and birth control) so there is a strong possibility i may have ovulated later.

I have had cramps and spotting for the last few days. I went into my EPU this morning and they couldn't see anything on the scan. They said it might be to early and or ectopic (but they didn't see any signs it was) or i might be about to miscarry. They are giving me blood tests today and in two days.

I am not good at waiting and I am really worried. As its so early just me and my partner know and I am really distracted from work stuff.

I had a scan at 6 weeks and they saw no embryo, just a yolk sac. Was told it was unlikely to develop. A week later there was a huge embryo and a heart beat! A lot can change very quickly x

Thanks! I am just confused and anxious and over worried about minor changes in pregnancy symptoms.

I don't think there is much possible to see at 5 weeks so there is a good chance everything is progressing normally.

Hi I had a pregnancy of unknown location last April was 5 weeks 4 days pregnant I had been having alot of brown discharge from when I got my bfp. Was at a&e and got bloods etc done my hcg had came back at only 38 said i was having a miscarriage was still bleeding 10 days later diagnosed then with pregnancy of unknown location as hcg was at 41 had scan and had free fluid in my cervix had to be treated with methotrexate injection and bloods returned to normal a week later. But it could also be too early to see anything op are they rescanning you xx

I also had this very early on in a pregnancy, they couldn’t see anything on the scan but as I was pregnant’ recorded it as a pregnancy of an unknown location. This sadly ended in a very early miscarriage but that’s certainly not always the case and I hope things work out for you.

@Farmgirl85 I think they are doing bloods then scanning. The brown discharge is getting a bit worse but it’s coming and going... (sorry tmi)

I hope it goes ok but the spotting is getting heavier so I am not holding out much hope...

@Vividdreamer88 it's a stressful time and a horrible wait when are you due to get your blood results? I knew something wasn't right from I got my bfp I jus didnt feel good at all. Really hope you outcome is different than mine xxx

I had this 2 years ago. At around 5 weeks pregnant. Hcg rising but not at the rate it should. Consultant explained pregnancy was either in Fallopian tube or just at neck of the womb. I was treated with methotrexate injections so no damage to tubes . Was hard at time as it followed a miscarriage but happy to say it was third time lucky and now have a very cute 4 month little girl .

Sort of update called to get my results but no one has called back yet. I did another test still clearly positive so I am holding on to a little bit of hope! It came up within seconds but didn’t go darker than the first. I am going to do an weeks clear blue tomorrow - my first one said 1-2 so hoping it’s either the same or gone up.
