Hi Guys,

I'm hoping some of you can offer advice on this topic.

I received my results yesterday and was told I'm high risk for DS, I have been frantically googling and can't find any concrete information (to which I understand at least :-/).

My results @12 weeks were:
Age: 33
Free bHCG: 4.15 MOM
PAPP-A: 0.75 MOM
NT: 1.25MOM

Overall risk: 1: 146
Mat age risk: 1: 557

My ultrasound didn't highlight any risk, my doctor was happy with all the measurements/nose bone etc.

I have to get a NIPT this week for further testing, I really hope it comes back clear, i'm trying to stay positive but can't help worrying.

Can anyone shed any light on similar scenario's?

thanks

I think the cut off for being considered high risk is 1/150 so at 1/146 you were very close to not being in the high risk group at all. It often helps to turn the numbers round - based on those numbers I calculate you have a 99.3% chance of your child not having Downs. (For what it's worth I had 1/50 risk of Edwards and the NIPT reduced that to 1/10,000 and DS was absolutely fine). Antenatal Results and Choices are very helpful for advice.

Thanks @UnaOfStormhold.

Yes it does help when you put it like that, thanks for the pointers.
