I'm new to the area and just wondering if anyone has any recent experience with antenatal classes in Suffolk, realise some are going online now but does anyone have experience of NHS classes in comparison to Suffolk babies run or Nct classes for example? I'm Ipswich hospital area ... would be grateful if anyone has any local recommendations.

Hey there! I live in the Ipswich Hospital area too. While I'm a long way off attending NCT or antenatal classes (I'm due 5th November), I've been in an office with a few pregnant women too. A couple of them went to the Woodbridge antenatal classes and said that they were good. One also went to the NCT group, she said it was ok but I guess the main benefit for her is that she still sees the group quite regularly 5 years on.

NCT group in Ipswich - that should say.

I’m 16 weeks and haven’t a clue, I’m in Suffolk. Not sure we will still get them with all this going on as I don’t even have midwife appointments now :(
Congrats btw :) x x

Interested to hear feedback too - am due end October so a while away yet but feedback is always interesting as this is all very new to us!

Scruffyoak · 01/04/2020 18:28

I done nct in Woodbridge.

BabyDancer · 01/04/2020 20:54

It's so nice to have a chance to be in touch with other pregnant women in Suffolk! Congrats everyone 😁

JC084 · 02/04/2020 10:33

@BabyDancer congrats to you too. I'm due towards the end of October so similar to you. Have my scan on 14 April at Ipswich hospital - not heard whether husband can come with me or not, but am assuming not...
The letter doesn't say and I can't see anything about scans on their website.
Does anyone know? x

BabyDancer · 02/04/2020 10:38

@JC084 I have my scan at the end of the month at Ipswich Hospital. I've have a friend that is going for her 20 week scan this week and unfortunately she has been told that she cannot bring her husband. I just hope by the time our 20 week scans come around that things will have gone in the right direction but who knows...

JC084 · 02/04/2020 10:43

@BabyDancer here's hoping things have improved by then but as you say, who knows...
we just have to hope people continue to follow the advice and we start to see improvements soon! X

Sunflower2019 · 03/04/2020 14:28

@JC084 my 20 week scan is 28th April and I called today and they’ve said no partners and They maybe referring us to a different hospital (Newmarket) which is 38miles away from me!!! What a nightmare everything is. Plus no midwife appointments x x

Sunflower2019 · 03/04/2020 14:32

Sorry meant to say I’m currently at bury st Edmunds hospital x

JC084 · 03/04/2020 14:35

@Sunflower2019 thank you for the update. Newmarket?? That's ages away :( I live about 5 mins from Ipswich hospital and have been going nowhere for the last few weeks so really hope we don't have to...
Understand it's tough times for everyone and there are worse things going on for other people, but it is definitely upsetting 😢 Hope you at least get to go to Ipswich xx

JC084 · 03/04/2020 14:37

Bury is a little closer but it's still quite a distance to go Smilexx
