So tonight I started with period red blood after mild discomfort in the after , now have passed a couple of pads worth of blood and some clots (palm sized) along with cramping. It seems to have reduced in the past hour. I am planning on phoning GP in the morning. Just after advice on what to expect - will I get a scan? How long will it last? Any experiences if miscarriage at this stage? I am in the UK. Thanks

It doesn't sound good I'm afraid op. But a scan will show if you are still to pass the sac. When I had one of my miscarriages I didn't pass the sac until two weeks later.

No just me I'm afraid. ..

I'm so sorry you're going through this :( when I had similar I was scanned to confirm miscarriage then a week later to confirm 'miscarriage complete' and that there was nothing left behind.

I hope you're being well looked after.

Hope you are okay lovely DaffodilThanks

Thanks for all the support everyone. I had my scan this morning - unfortunately it is non viable but still there, so now I need to wait for it to come out. They are not offering any medical or surgical options at the moment due to Covid. I will have a follow up appointment in 2 weeks. Very sad

Sorry to hear this OP. Sending hugs and remember that this isn't your fault, and sadly nothing could have been done to prevent it Flowers

Very sorry OP Flowers. I’ve had 4 MC and let all of them complete by themselves. It can take quite a while (4 weeks) and it’s a very emotional thing to bear. Every trip to the loo is a reminder. I mention this as I expected it to be over in 5/6 days like a period the first time, but that wasn’t the case for me.

I know this seems an unfeeling thing to say but just so you are aware. There is no medical reason to wait to try again and my consultant told me he had a really good record for pregnancy after MC.

Good luck it’s such an emotionally tough thing. I hope you can talk to someone in RL. x

hello @EveHen so sorry you're going through this :( How are you feeling now? I think I have the same situation and I don't know what to do. Last time when I had early scan I was advised to go to A&E if I have bleeding. I'm not sure with all this Covid situation...Today I had brown spotting all day and eventually it changed to red blood and it is getting heavier every hour. I'm about 6+3. Sad

EveHen · 07/04/2020 20:13

Hi aiya, I am much better now. I passed it out the day of the scan and the bleeding has stopped now. So it was quicker than I expected in the end. When I went to the doctor they gave me some info. It is not very nice - but basically if you are going to miscarry there is nothing they can do. Mostly in the early stages it is due to problems with matching up the genetics from mum and dad - if it hasn't joined together properly then there is no hope. They only worry if the bleeding is severe - they said soaking a pad every hour - then they need to treat the patient for blood loss. I passed a few clots about the size of the palm of my hand but wasn't soaking pads at that rate so I waited till the morning to phone the GP. I am very sorry but I hope this helps a bit. If you have any more questions please message x

@EveHen Thank you for your message. It really helped me. Hopefully everything will be fine. I will wait until morning and contact my doctor

EveHen · 07/04/2020 21:12

Good luck Aiya, wishing you all the best. I found the waiting the hard part, and also found that there was minimal useful info anywhere. Xxx
