I’m 9 weeks and I don’t seem to really like the taste of anything right now. I have a weird taste in my mouth so think that’s why and awful morning sickness. I am worrying I’m going to get dehydrated as I normally drink quite a lot of squash. Right now I can’t stand squash or plain water, the only thing I’ve been drinking is lemonade it says no added sugar but I know it’s still not good for me. Is it bad to keep drinking lemonade? I also have a glass of milk when I can

Just eat or drink whatever you can manage, this feeling hopefully won't last forever and anything is better than nothing.
I struggled with sickness and nausea in my first trimester and could throw up even just thinking about certain foods....at one point I was surviving on plain crackers and fanta lemon.
It lasted until about 11 weeks for me and now I can eat and drink pretty much anything.
I've taken pregnancy supplements since the very beginning so that made me feel a little less guilty about it all.

Just do what you can to get through this period. Ice lollies can sometimes be good.

Caspianberg · 30/03/2020 17:42

I fancied fresh orange ice lollies, fresh orange juice, granny smith apples around then. Not sure if you think any would help

sarahc336 · 30/03/2020 17:55

Nope at this point you literally eat or drink what you can as lemondade is far better for you than nothing. With my daughter I think i was surviving off Coke Zero around about 9 weeks and harribo sweets so sounds very similar and she turned out healthy so please don't worry, it's really common and in a couple of weeks it will pass xx

I'm a couple of weeks ahead of you and absolutely get what you mean. Like a PP I lived off oranges, other fruit, fruit ice lollies.

userabcname · 30/03/2020 18:19

Eat and drink what you can. 9weeks was the worst for morning sickness for me in both my pregnancies. I lived on sips of water and plain toast with dc1 and flat, icy coke and olives (weird craving) with dc2 at that point! You'll feel better soon.

I could drink plain water hot with a slice of lemon. Then I discovered lemon and ginger herbal tea which seemed to help my morning sickness.
I could also manage plain porridge made with water instead of milk. The water content helped keep me hydrated.
Sugar free jelly is also hydrating.
I also could stomach rice, applesauce, bananas and toast!

I found sucking small ice cubes helped & then actually craved them throughout pregnancy.

Littlebb2020 · 30/03/2020 18:36

Been eating apples and fruit when I can as don’t seem to mind sweet things. Normally a savoury person but not keen rn. I’ve managed a peanut butter and strawberry jam sandwich today and an apple. @KatnissK that’s made Me really want an ice cold glass of Coke now! Going to send dh to
The shop for a can 😄

Ice lollies are a good idea will ask dh to Pick Some up too!
Thankyou for your advice x

Ohhh man this has been me I'm 12 weeks now and gradually very gradually managing to eat some things other than marmite toast! I have survived on toast and fanta orange, which I totally blame for my podge but I am hoping there is light at the end of this tunnel

xxxemzyxxx · 30/03/2020 19:39

Weeks 6-9 were my worst for food. I’ve been put off most food from about 5 weeks and mostly lived on orange juice, satsumas, bbq crisps, nesquick and marmite on toast. My biggest thing is ice lollies though, they really help with my sickness.

I’m 13 weeks now so hoping sickness starts fading off soon!

Littlebb2020 · 30/03/2020 20:45

Also been living off nesquik! But seem to have gone off of it the past few days, it’s weird having food aversions as normally I love food and will mostly try anything! The one think I’m glad I haven’t gone off is dominos pizza but with all the corona I have stopped eating take away for now x
