thirst in second trimester?

Had a scan today and baby measuring bigger than average, doctor said nothing to worry about and all looked good!

I did mention to her that I have been very thirsty - probably drinking about 3litres water a day plus some decaff teas. She is sending me to get checked for GD, which surprised me. I'm very fit, eat a very healthy diet and don't eat sugar except for some fruit. Is thirst normal in second trimester?

Thanks in advance! Mx

I'm 18 weeks and also been drinking like a fish last few weeks. I was told I need to be monitored for GD as close family have diabeties but so far not had any tests. I think if you otherwise feel well things are probably fine but its good that you're getting a check anyway. Try not to worry .

@Yaty thank you! I am 18+5, yes just drinking so so much. I doubt I have it as it doesn't run in my families pregnancies either...Best of luck with your pregnancy! M x
