I'm wondering the same, I'm 23 weeks and he's gone quiet a few times and freaked me out. I think it will be harder to monitor movements with an anterior placenta.

Hi, I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel movements until 23 weeks and didn't get a pattern until around 28-30 weeks. I'm going to link something below for you to read which saved me in pregnancy as I had several periods of reduced movements leading me to be induced at 38+5.

Anterior placenta here. Am 27 weeks. Started feeling proper movement about 3 weeks ago.
It’s sporadic, mostly at night / morning, when I’m lying down.
Sometimes I get strong kicks, other times just rumbling around.
Baby responds sometimes when I eat, especially something sweet or real tea. Might be my imagination!
Am not worried about a pattern, for now, as long as I can feel the baby. Will ask my midwife apt next week.

@ringarosie that definitely gives me peace of mind so as long as they are moving should be all good in most cases xx
@latheritup thank you so much will have a look at the article now xx
@lillyleaf yeah thats what freaks me out too! But midwife keeps saying as long as you feel him moving its okay

I’m 19 weeks and have an anterior placenta. I’ve been feeling movements for around 5 weeks (this is my third pregnancy). Just little ones every now and then.

I had a scan on Saturday (private one as my husband is not allowed to attend the NHS one due to the current situation) and my god, she was moving so much and I wasn’t feeling any of it. We watched her on the screen and I felt just one of the many movements she was making.

@tink2007 oh wow really? So he might be moving alot but I just dont feel him that much that makes sense lol

They say they won't have a pattern until 28 weeks or so (I went to the unit several times with scares of little or no movement and was told this every time) I'm not 30 weeks... and the only pattern mine has is that she has a quiet day and terrified me every couple of days. Other than that, anything's game. It's super positional dependant for me.

I had an anterior placenta and I first felt movement about 23 weeks and I didn't ever really feel like there was an established pattern. As long as I felt my baby moving often enough throughout the day I was happy.

That makes sense thank you guys does put my mind at rest that there doesnt need to be a pattern x
