Hi all,
Had a very emotional few days and hoping for some advise/reassurance from the site.
My partner is 12 weeks pregnant and was feeling very uncomfortable on Friday night, we went to bed and she woke up at 2am with a significant amount of blood on the bed and her PJs soaked.
Obviously we panicked and went straight to A&E, due to the corona situation my partner had to wait other own. When she was seen they checked her hormone levels and eventually got a GYN to check her cervix.
The GYN told my partner she had miscarried and would need her to stay in hospital for her to pass the baby. As you can imagine this was a very hard time for her, especially since I had to wait in the car and she was on her own.
Luckily the nurses on the ward let me come in when they saw how upset she was. Around 4 hours later they did a routine scan to just make sure there's no other complications.
Again I was unable to accompany her (which I understand) she came back in 15 minutes later in tears and told me baby was still there with a strong heartbeat!!
Turns out my partner had a Subchorionic Hematoma, we were advised that my partner had to move as little as possible (easier now we are in quarantine) and we just had to wait for the pregnancy to process.
Since we left the hospital the bleeding has slowed substantially and there are no longer any clots, however my partner has been having intermittent stomach pains and is now feeling very cold, I'm not sure if this is due to the last few days of blood loss?
Is this normal and does anyone have any tips of advice for us?
Thank you!
