Was just wondering how are your antenatal appointments going? Have any been cancelled or pushed forward?

Yes I'm due to give birth at Queens in May. I know a few other people due around the same time. It seems most midwife appointments are happening over the phone (currently waiting for my midwife to call as my 31 weeks appointment was due to be today). Also no partners allowed for scans or in the postnatal ward, but they have confirmed that partners are allowed during the birth and that's not likely to change (but who know what might happen!)

When are you due?

Also would recommend following Upminster and Cranham Midwives (@UMidwives) on Twitter as they have been good at posting daily updates. They are not my midwife team so not all the info is relevant but have posted updates about Queens etc

My midwife cancelled my appointment in the clinic and we spoke over the phone. I have my 20 week scan at Queens on Monday and they've just phoned to say they now have security in the hospital entrance and they will check why you're there. They have a list of names and they will check you are on their list before you can go in at the moment. No partners allowed.

Hey, I'm due to give birth there in May. I have gestational diabetes so usually have a few extra checks, so far my scans haven't been cancelled. Diabetic catch ups have been done over text (but I was already under their team so knew what to do with diet and medication etc. so not a problem to have these over text as I'm fine to increase meds myself if/when I need to) I don't see the normal midwife team anymore. I had a growth scan at 32 weeks and have one booked for 36 weeks where I'll see the consultant after to discuss induction (have to be induced, due to being on insulin). Last appointment I went to, as previously mentioned, they have security on the door and a checklist, you're only allowed in if your name is on the list for an appointment and you have to be on your own, no partners or children allowed for appointments or scans. I've been told currently you are still allowed your partner in ACTIVE labour - so say you need to be induced you'll go on your own, then your partner can come join you when your active labour ramps up - I don't think they're allowed to stay much longer after baby is here though. No home births allowed at moment as if you needed it, they can't guarantee they'd have enough ambulance staff to get you to hospital. There is a Facebook group called MVP Queen's (Maternity Voices Partnership Queen's) which is worth a follow for most up to date, correct info. Hoping a lot can change in the next few weeks though! Fingers crossed :)
