20 week scan advice

Hi All 🌸

I'm supposed to have my 20 week scan tomorrow morning. I have been trying to call the hospital to find out if the appointment is still going ahead but understandably they will be inundated so have had no luck? Do I still attend? If so will I be allowed anyone in with me? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm not sure what to do?

As far as I can tell it should still be going ahead. With our hospital we’re expected to book in and go wait in our car until they call once they’ve anti bacterial wiped the room after the last person. What time is your appointment? You could always call the labour triage and ask or try again in the AM.

Most places that I've seen are currently doing scans but not allowing anyone to accompany you. Have you checked the hospital website? They mostly have quite detailed coronavirus info which may give you a sense of what the plan is. Lots also have a Facebook page (often, there's a Facebook page specifically for maternity services) so you may also find updates there.

I would be confident that your scan will go ahead but I imagine you will have to go alone unfortunately.

Outs are still going ahead but without partners now. I got lucky as mine was last Monday before the changes

I had mine on Thursday, the hospital never called me so I assumed it was going ahead, and it was :) my partner wasn’t allowed in with me though, I had to go alone x

Thanks Ladies I've tried to look for info on the website but no luck! It's good to see people's appointments have still being going ahead so I'm going to attend my appointment it's at 8.30am so will just see what happens my parter is going to come with me but will wait in the car if needed . Thanks again 😘

Have you tried Facebook? My local maternity hospital have been posting updates on there.

I rang up and there was an automated message saying unless you had already been cancelled, scans and appointments were still going ahead.
The 20 week anomaly scan is pretty essential so haven't heard of any being cancelled.
You will probably have to attend alone though. I had mine on Thurs and it was fine, other women in the waiting room all on exactly the same boat
