Hi guys,

Currently pregnant with my first baby, I'm 18+4 weeks. Everyone keeps asking me if I've felt any movements yet and I don't think I have.
When did you feel your baby for the first time during your first pregnancy and what was it like?

Xx

I'm 20+3, first pregnancy and nothing yet! Found out at my 20 week scan I've got an anterior placenta which can mean you don't feel anything till up to 24 weeks ish.

Everest1 · 29/03/2020 14:24

I was around 19 weeks i they just felt like little pops in my belly. Im 20+4 and last night felt a proper kick xx

erised · 29/03/2020 14:27

I felt tiny movements at 16 weeks that felt like muscle spasms. Started feeling proper movement at about 20 weeks.

Jem9153 · 29/03/2020 14:37

16 weeks but that was only if I lay on my back and fully concentrated on it! Even then they were so tiny I could easily miss it if I was busy doing things.

I’m 20 weeks now and for the last week they’ve been getting a little stronger, and noticeable when I’m moving around and busy ☺️

I started to feel the flutters at 16weeks, but really started to feel the kicks properly at 18weeks x

YorkshirePud1 · 29/03/2020 16:46

I started feeling movements at about 22 weeks. I thought I felt flutters before that but was never quite 100% sure.

CherryCreme · 29/03/2020 17:02

From about 16 weeks I was feeling "flutters", literally felt like butterflies and could easily be mistaken for wind. I'm 20 weeks now and been feeling proper kicks for about a week or so, this is my first pregnancy!

Russell19 · 29/03/2020 17:03

It was after my 20 week scan, I'd say probably about 22 weeks.

JuneBaby20 · 29/03/2020 17:08

I felt my baby move in my 17th week. But everyone is different so don’t worry!😊

EssElsiee · 29/03/2020 18:03

19 weeks, anterior placenta. Went straight from nothing to kicks .. no fluttering! X

TinyStripe · 29/03/2020 18:04

18+3 with my first. Remember it vividly. My friend didn't feel anything until 23 weeks. Baby was fine :)

rainbow1982 · 29/03/2020 18:35

I was 21 weeks and even then it was just 1 tiny kick on my palm when I'd been concentrating for ages! You've possibly felt little 'popcorn' feelings and put it down to wind but that'll be baby! I worried loads but please don't, you'll like feel it by week 24 so you have a while yet before there's any cause for concern. I turned 30 weeks yesterday and baby is body popping in there!🥰

Bearbunch · 29/03/2020 20:11

I'm 16 weeks and convinced this week I've started to feel something, if I've had a glass of apple juice (my absolute craving) and lie down I'm nearly sure I can feel little one doing spins 😂 could be all in my head but it's a sensation I don't recognise so must be baby related! (this is my first)

MrsHJFL · 29/03/2020 20:16

Thanks everyone really interesting to hear all your experiences!

When you feel a kick what is it like? Is it like a thud in your belly? Xx

I was about 22 weeks, first pregnancy, size 16 and plecenta at the front.

firsttimeivfmum · 29/03/2020 20:32

I felt bubbles at around 18weeks and my first proper kicks the day after my twenty week scan. You have plenty of time. Think about all of that lovely cushioning he/she has around them Smile

Razpoot · 29/03/2020 20:47

Everybody says its like bubbles but i never got that. I have an antieror placenta and only started to feel the baby around 22 weeks, and I don't know where it came from. Suddenly out of nowhere I could feel these huge kicks, even my partner can feels them, and they move my stomach! No idea what happened but ever since then I feel them a lot and hard!

N12345625 · 29/03/2020 20:51

Around 22 weeks xx

LuckyC27 · 29/03/2020 20:55

I have a high up anterior placenta so wasn't expecting any movement yet but since 19 weeks have had movements most mornings when I wake up and lie in bed and when I lie in bed in the evening. Not full on kicks and probably similar to the flutters people talk about feels very strange!

Olivia20188 · 29/03/2020 21:32

Around, 18-19 weeks and maybe a few flutters from 16 weeks :)

WhateverHappenedToBathPearls · 29/03/2020 22:58

About 19 weeks. It wasn't much to start with though!
