5 days late... how long for positive pregnancy test?

My cycle are normally 26 days but I'm currently on CD31 what I'm feeling is really sore breast, lower right back pinches, tiredness and a cold. I tok a test 3 days ago and it was negative... don't know what to do... some advice please

Can you get hold of another test? Preferably a pink dye one testing with your first morning urine.

If you are pregnant, I would expect it to show up by now....otherwise it could just be a late period, we all get them occasionally and normally no real explanation.

You most probably ovulated late, it can happen.

I O'd on CD 13 and that was the 11th of this month and thank you. I thought it was stress but I'm honestly not stressed so I don't know what else it could be

I took my tests about 5 days late and got very strong positives.

FWIW, I'm late 30's and my cycle is normally like clockwork but a couple of times over the years I remember being over a week late with no explanation whatsoever. The female body works in weird ways.

Tbh it could be pregnancy implanting later than usual or it could be a wayward period. Mine are always every month but with a 10 day variation. However once a few years ago i missed a period then had 2 yhe following month with no explanation. Has never happened before or since. The female body is a mystery. Good luck. Try test today if you can get one :)

So I took a blue dye test and it is positive but... I don't really trust blue dye to much and all the bad reviews on blue dye I didn't even try to get my hopes up because it's heartbreaking... The store didn't have any pink dye 😔 I'm going to wait

I'm sure you can't get a false positive

Do you have a picture of the test? Did it show up positive within the stated time frame?

It's a lot more common to get a false negative than a false positive!

I didn't keep the test because I just didn't want to put so much hope into it😔 I'm becoming impatient but don't want to buy a test everyday😣 6 days late now but I called my doctor and she said wait till a week after missing my period to test again... whhhhhyyy soooo long?

Could you order a test online? It'll probably take a few days to arrive by which time your period will either be well over a week late or you might have come on anyway.

Order a frer from amazon.

If you've had a positive and you're late then I'd definitely think you're pregnant though.

i did a clearblue one with first wee of the day when i was 4 days late and it was pretty much instant. i'm having twins tho which i think can mean more of the HCG hormone floating around in there.

as commenters above have noted - false positives are very very rare. that doesn't stop us all from doing a thousand tests though to 'make sure'. i restrained myself and only did another three...

I tested yesterday on pink dye and got a negative.. I'm not sure anymore. Maybe I won't get AF this month? Im 7 days late now and have no idea what's wrong with me😞

I don’t want to give false hope but in the same week I had:
1 x FRER False negative
1 x Clear Blue early detection false negative
1 x CBED total dud! Not even a control line

These were all different packs.

I took a CB digital and got my positive result and am now 24 weeks pregnant!

Every woman is different and prefers differently tests - personally I favour digital but that’s just because of my sitch above!

If you’re 7 days late then you should be coming up positive on regular tests regardless of dye but sometimes our body’s are freaky xx
