Hi ladies I have a really stiff neck /shoulder and I was just wondering if it's okay to use some like deep heat or an ibuprofen gel in pregnancy please?

I don't believe it is ok, we shouldn't have ibuprofen in pregnancy. Read the labels xx

I don’t think you can use deep heat, definitely not the ibuprofen one though. Maybe try a hot shower/bath or a hot water bottle?

I used a little bit of tiger balm during my pregnancy - not all the time, probably once every few days. I only ever used it on my shoulders and upper back though (my problem areas!) never on my lower back just to be on the safe side. My little one is happy and healthy - no problems.

You can use deep heat I believe as there is no ibuprofen in it. I've also used voltarol but you cant use it in the 3rd trimester x

Can't use an NSAID, like ibuprofen, can use deep heat.

Thank you ladies currently sat here with a microwave heat pack on it to see if that helps.

I've used those deep heat patches as an alternative. They don't have any medication in but they stay warm for ages and they do help. Hope your neck is better soon. Xx

I wondered this too about deep heat and then read and the packet that it shouldn't be used in pregnancy... apparently it contains essential oils which can trigger early labour, so I'm steering clear!
