Nappy advice

I am due in May and have a few questions regarding nappies

  • Roughly how long does the baby need size 1 nappies? I realise it varies, but trying to figure out if it's just a couple of weeks or a few months.
  • What nappies would you recommend? I can only get my hands on Pampers Pure at the moment due to shortages - are they good?
  • What baby wipes would you recommend? I am looking at Water Wipes.

Thank you!

My baby wore size 0 for one week, size 1 for three weeks and size 2 for three/four weeks. He's nine months and been wearing size three for months but he could move a size soon.

The only nappies that keep my four year old dry all night are Pampers nappy pants but for my baby I find Tesco are the best nappy for fit and absorbency. With nappies it's about trial and error, when my baby was born I bought one pack of each brand and decided I liked Tesco the best.

Water wipes are wipes soaked in water and cost two/three times the cost of other wipes. My favourite wipes are Johnson's but at £1.00 a pack are a bit expensive for us so we buy Tesco or ASDA own brand and they are both fine.

My baby stayed in size one a month or two from what I remember. We use ALDI wipes and nappies and had no problems with them. I found pampers leaked more. The only wipes I didnt like was huggies as found those broke apart easily.

I can recommend reusable wipes - though I always used water wipes on the go. We have cheeky wipes and they've lasted across two babies so far.

We recently changed my DD to Size 2 at three weeks old. Used Aldi nappies exclusively with no problems.

As for wipes, we've used Huggies Pure and Water Wipes. Did use Sainsburys sensitive for a little bit but I feel like they irritated her skin, so I went back to Water Wipes. Luckily got a pack of 4 from Ocado for free, and 2 packs of Huggies Pure from Bounty packs, but when those run out we will move to Aldi wipes.

Water Wipes are definitely good (albeit expensive) as we've only ever had to use one or two per change.

We've tried Tesco, Asda, Aldi, Pampers and Lidl nappies and been happy with all of them, but pampers were our least favourite. Sometimes, wearing a nappy size above usual size at night helps with keeping them dry.

Correction- we have Aqua Wipes! Pretty sure they are the same idea though.

We use reusable wipes and nappies during the day. At night dd is in disposables, and moved to size 2 at 15 weeks
