If you love the name Riana - go for it! Dont change it because 'someone at work' has called their baby something similar! That's madness!

Dawn your preg hormones are going wiiiild here

I called my baby the same name as a colleague's daughter without a second thought!

Nbg · 11/09/2007 08:39

Just think, you might not even go back to work and if you do this other colleague might have left or you might leave.
So it doesnt matter.

ella ella ella hay hay hay, under my umberella, la la la laaaaaaa

Not as if a close relatuve or family friend. Would definitely call my child a similar - not even same name here don't forgot - as a person at work.

Don't worry about it.

Flippin friend of mine as named her new puppy the same name as I had chosen for bump. Dh won't hear of us calling the baby that name now so hae had to have a rethink. God job in a way cos dd1 started a rhyming slang with the name and calls the dog something else which she'd have done with the baby probably

Now look, a couple of years and you may be gone from that place. If you love the name, use it. I speak from (sort of) experience.

I love the name Caroline. Ever since I was little I have been determined that my daughter will be called Caroline. What my little mind didn't register was that I have a cousin called Caroline, a cousin who we see and hear a lot from. My mother has threatened the mother of all sulks if I go ahead and use it (and my mother could win an Olympic gold in sulking). I figure that with my first tiny baby to look after, the last thing I need is my mother sulking. So, my daughter, due in January, will not be called Caroline. And I'm gutted. I'm having it as a middle name, but it's not the same.

So please use the name - when you are calling out your child's name for however long you've got left on this planet, this other child willl be a distant memory.
