Can I record part of 20 week scan

Just as title says really! My husband won't be able to attend my scan with me now due to Corona, which we completely understand so will it be off putting or daft to ask to record part of the scan on my phone so I can show him? Just wanted to see if other people thought this would be okay, guess I'm just a bit nervous about going solo!

Pretty sure when I had my scan there are numerous signs up saying no mobile phones allowed.

It may be different considering the restrictions, but the only way you will know is to ask.

I spoke with my midwife yesterday and she told me no filming even in the current circumstances.

We’ve booked a private scan so husband can still see it.

It's usually a very firm no because NHS scans are for medical purposes not for the parents benefit, but it's definitely worth asking!

Some have said they've let them when they asked on the day, some are refusing to let them. I was going to book a private scan if OH isn't allowed to come in for 12week scan next week but private scan places are shut 😞

Yes all the private scan clinics local to us are now closed and being used for NHS only.
Well I can only ask, will be spending a fortune on the pictures Wink

I had mine yesterday an there was no filming allowed

sel2223 · 26/03/2020 11:57

I just had mine this morning. No guests allowed to accompany the mum to be and no filming/video calls/taking pics.

I was planning to purchase a fee pics but baby wasn't playing ball and the sonographer couldn't get a single decent pic so she gave me two very blurred ones for free so I had something to show baby's dad at least x

I had mines on Tuesday and the midwife asked if I would like to film some which was lovely. I suppose it depends on who you get. I'm in Scotland though so might be different up here? I asked for her to write the sex down so I could find out with oh but that wasn't allowed she could only tell me xx

Mine 3 years ago encouraged you to take photos of the screen, albeit not filming, because they weren't printing photos anymore.

I didn't really want to becuase I find scan photos weird anyway and didn't take any from my first DC. But thought I'd be judged for not taking photos after they offered so went along with it!
