Pregnancy nausea relief

Blondie1092 · 26/03/2020 00:04

I am suffering from awful nausea throughout my pregnancy so far. I am currently 10 weeks +3. It's constant from the moment I wake up and it comes in waves throughout the whole day. I'm sipping on some lemonade, nibbling ginger biscuits, and have tried eating ice pops to try ease it but nothing is helping. I haven't actually seen sick yet but I'm always waiting on it!
Any tips on relief for this?
I'm starting to feel really down because of it 😢😫

Poor thing. I really do feel for you. I'm 21 weeks and had very bad nausea. I've tried pretty much everything but medecine. What kind of work for me was lemon water, ginger capsule and maybe homeopathic (sepia).
You can try exercising (yoga type) for 5mn and see if it does relieve, then carry on. Didn't help me at all.
The best remedies of all was sleeping!
All the best of luck!!

Water with lemon worked for me too. And also sour sweets like the haribo ones.

Hi @Blondie1092 I'm having the same problem. I'm 8 weeks and have constant nausea all day, I havent actually vomited but some days I'm retching lots.
So far what seems to have eased it a bit is having a biscuit as soon as I wake up, while I'm still lying down. And I've also just got some sickness wrist bands to see if they help.
I didnt realise how awful it could make you feel! Hope you're ok.

I had terrible nausea and occasional sickness, it was horrible - I feel your pain. Sour sweets like someone else suggested were great, loads of ice water-just keep in fridge and add ice but the best for me was to keep a supply of tip tops or callipos - just any iced lolly. The coldness used to just stop the sickness right away, a friend recommended it to me and I was dubious but it was only thing for me that properly worked x

I was the same. I'm 13 weeks now and it's so much better. I found travel sickness bands fab, fizzy orange and prawn cocktail crisps brilliant.

LittleCandle · 26/03/2020 08:31

I was coming on to say travel sickness bands. I wore them during my second pregnancy and found they helped quite a bit.

Chanel05 · 26/03/2020 08:44

I'm 15+2 and still have awful nausea. So far I've found nothing works for me! It's actually been getting worse in the last few days and I've vomited.

Blondie1092 · 26/03/2020 10:22

Hi everyone thanks for your replies I really appreciate it!
I have just bought some pregnancy nausea wrist bands (they're the same as the travel ones but just a different colour!)
My sickness it's constant all day, it's worse when I wake up and at night time it's unbearable. Never realised it would be as bad as this but I suppose it's all good signs for baba!
I feel like I just want to throw up and get it over with 😢
Keeping some biscuits by my bedside for the morning seems a good idea.

I had terrible nausea from around 6 weeks until I popped the little buggers out. Nothing worked for me. One midwife suggested sports drinks, like Lucozade sport (not fizzy). Didn't help me but might help you.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 26/03/2020 10:28

Mine was all day and night too OP. I remember sitting on the toilet in my mums during my first pregnancy, at around 6 months, weeping like a baby, because I couldn't take it any longer.

Lozz22 · 26/03/2020 10:38

I lived on ginger biscuits and dry crackers. Although my morning sickness wasn't too bad, seemed worse with strong smells and stuff and in the 9 weeks I was Pregnant I think I was only actually sick a couple of times but I had a fever too so it might have being that. Apparently tinned peaches are meant to be pretty good too I just never got the chance to see if it actually worked.

MrsRose2018 · 26/03/2020 10:39

Hi OP

The ONLY thing that calmed my morning sickness were these spicy ramen noodles from Tesco! Same concept of super noodles but a “Chinese” brand!

If I ate them for breakfast at like 8am I could stave off the nausea if I didn’t, vomit stations!

I know the thought of them would make your stomach heave but they saved.my.life! X

I've never been pregnant but you could try making triple strength peppermint tea. That's right - 3 teabags! You then drink it tablespoons at a time. Please consult with your GP or midwife first as this us close to a clinical dose.

Luckyme30 · 27/03/2020 06:22

I am having the same issues so far I’ve tried 2 different medications from GP - which haven’t helped with the nausea at all.

Last week I got myself the nausea bands and I have to say the nausea has definitely got better, although last night I was sick but all in all I think they have helped massively!

The only thing I found that stopped the nausea was eating regularly, the minute I feel hungry that’s it for me the nausea kicks in!

Ooh and ice lolly’s have helped too :)

lettersbyowl · 27/03/2020 06:38

EAT. Plain biscuits like digestives or rich tea or hobnobs by the bed. Eat one in the night if you wake up, and make one the first thing you reach for in the morning. Do not get up without eating a biscuit or two. Then go downstairs and eat some cereal or toast before you start to feel sick again. Simple carbs are your friend. Keep that going pretty much all day!!! Do not let your tummy get empty!

Blondie1092 · 28/03/2020 19:58

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for your replies!
I've been doing a few different things at once over the past few days so I'm not sure what is working and what's not but I don't care... something is working 😂 here's what I've done:

Eating small meals/snacks and more often
Not really eating a "dinner"
Made homemade ginger biscuits and I nibble them throughout the day
I take a ginger biscuit to bed at night and eat it as soon as I wake up
I'm burning soy ginger/lavender wax melts around the house
I'm taking a glass of prune juice a day
I'm taking a spoonful of lactulose a day
Wearing the pink nausea relief bands on each wrist
Drinking less water (I drink 3-4 litres a day so I've reduced this to 1-2)

I haven't felt sick at all since Thursday now! My mum got my the lactulose and prune juice as she thinks the iron in my Pregnacare tablets have caused me to be "bunged up" 🙈 which has probably added to the whole thing.

I'm also SO GLAD to see that some of you also feel nausea come on when hunger hits, I thought I was imagining it but we just all be on the same boat!

If anyone wants the ginger biscuit recipe let me know and I'll post it up here! It makes lovely gooey, soft, sweet ginger biscuits. They have been my god send 🙏🏻
