Worried about food shopping

I have been trying to get an online food delivery slot through Ocado but it's proving impossible at the moment.

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and am worried about DH going to the supermarket to buy food in case he brings germs back into the house.

Obviously there's no way round this as we have to eat - but how do you minimise the risk? He's giving his hands a thorough wash when he comes in but is there anything else I can do?

Some ideas of things they’re doing in Europe - Antibac his hands and the the steering wheel in the car before he comes in the house. Leave shoes in the porch, change clothes and wash hands straight away after coming home. Wipe down food packaging with an antibacterial wipe.

Im not saying that’s what you should be doing, just some extra ideas if you’re really worried.

@wondering7777 I am also 36 weeks and have a 3yr old my husband is still having to work but drives there and back and staff in office is minimal I couldnt send my husband to shops for full shop as he wouldnt have a clue so what I have been doing is going to sainsburys when they have the hr for elderly and vulnerable as we are allowed as 3rd trimester were classed as vulnerable its 8 to 9am mon,wed and fri it's not busy other than a few elderly this cuts the chances down and wear gloves and take anti bacterial with you would be my suggestion xx

Thanks for the advice. DH has been going to the corner shop to buy essentials but I worry about that too (although it's less crowded than the supermarkets I think).

Have you tried other delivery options? Asda seemed to release a lot of new slots today - I went on at 5am and could get slots for two days away when yesterday there was nothing for three weeks. You can then get a delivery pass and set up a recurring weekly delivery - I've done this for my parents.

Ocado don't seem to be doing very well with the extra traffic.
