Stuffy Nose

Is anyone else constantly battling feeling slightly under the weather? I don’t mean the usual nausea - I was sick three weeks ago (thankfully not coronavirus), and now my sinuses are all blocked up again and I’m just feeling sooo tired during the day. As someone who experiences health anxiety quite severely and regularly, I find it really difficult not knowing what’s normal and what’s not and I can’t call my midwife everyday!!!
I’m 12 weeks on Friday so was hoping feeling crap would slow down soon 😖

Me! I've had constant blocked/runny nose since I became pregnant and it's even worse at the moment. 12 weeks now. Also nose bleeds. Hope it's normal. It's making me really out of breath because my airways are so congested all the time Sad

A blocked nose and nose bleeds are completely normal during pregnancy. It's to do with the extra blood that you're now producing and your blood vessels. It's absolutely nothing to worry about. I've had both. I'm 28 weeks now and haven't had a bloody nose in a while but I did in the earlier days and my nose is still stuffy, especially in the mornings.

Yep! Lots of bloody snot here since about month 2/3. I’m 20 weeks and been assured it’s totally normal.

I'm 22 weeks and it's been a constant symptom. The bloody nose is less now and I'm still stuffy and congested. I got a sea salt nose spray which helps to clear out your nose.

Good to know it's common! It's been hands down my worst symptom, hope it clears for us all soon.

Same here, stuffy nose most mornings and had some small nose bleeds along the way, 29 weeks and not had for a few weeks now but still have the blocked nose xx

Sorry ladies that unfortunately is a pregnancy symptom. I suffered right the way through pregnancy (I've given birth now and it's gone!!). It's truly horrible and you can't really take much for it.

I found pillows propped up, Vics inhaler, some pillow spray and as much fresh air in the room as possible really helps.

GoldenKirst · 25/03/2020 09:54

I had a stuffy nose from about 4-5 weeks. I'm 21 weeks now and it seems to have cleared a bit, or I'm just used to it now. Felt like I was coming down with a cold for months! I read it's really common in pregnancy but not one of the main symptoms people talk about ☺️

Unfortunately I'm almost 38 weeks and still have a stuffy nose that bleeds all the time when blowing. My gp said it was safe to use a steroid nasal spray (she recommended otvivine) so I've been taking that on and off at night otherwise I wouldnt sleep.

I'm 12 weeks on Friday too :)

I'm really tired too, sleeping late and going to be early. Thankfully had no nausea or vomiting at all. I do have a slight cough but that's usual for me for this time of year.

Thank you so much for all your replies ladies! It’s really given me peace of mind 😘 I hope you all start to feel better soon and I wish you well with your babies!! X
